Scarlet Pimpernel (Enriched Classics)

The Scarlet Pimpernel was a non-detail that I had read in my tenth standard and right now I can't remember if it was an abridged version or not. But I had been searching for the book (having lost my non-detail a long time ago) for a while and to my surprise I found a Kindle edition of it.I had always loved it from the first moment I read it. The amazing Sir Percy, the lovely Marguerite, the cunning villain Chauvelin. I have to admit though my favorite out of the lot is Sir Andrew. I'm so glad to have this book back and I will keep reading it for some time

Character description on point. You start to empathise with them, be shocked with them, absolutely hating the villain and falling in love with The mysterious Scarlett Pimpernel (who remains unknown for the most part).Classics are great but this isn't your usual one. Those of you who don't like classics, don't be quick to judge. You'll absolutely love this one.

An easy and entertaining read with a load of old world charm (it was written in an earlier age) thrown in. A great story of Love, honour and chivalry going back to the French Revolution (though less complex in plot as a "Tale of Two Cities", which would rate 5 stars.

The climax just keeps you glued to the book. An excellent read. The story is well worded and compiled even for young readers.

Binding and paper quality is pathetic. But good story.

The author’s prose kept me glued into the book. The author had delivered a nail biting thriller blended with a passionate love story. This book is a must read. Thank you amazon kindle for giving this for free. I ,for long waited to read this only to find it in kindle .

Good storyline. Some may think story is a bit corny, but it's still a good read. Recommended.

Adorei reler o Pimpinela. Muito fácil no formato e tipologia O único problema foi de revisão, alguns erros de grafia. Mas, foram poucos. Merece as cinco estrelas.

You will love this tale of a witty rescuer who saves many of the French aristocracy from the guillotine. It is fun. The main character is clever, faces danger with humor, and proves himself a true hero, despite being misunderstood by many. The ending is satisfying--as far as the main character is concerned. As for the main female character, the only disappointment in this book is that at the biggest moment of need, she fails to use her brains to solve the problem and take action; this was a let-down from a clever, capable lady. Enjoy!

Oui, car Zorro n'est qu'un avatar du Scarlet Pimpernel ! Et le Scarlet Pimpernel ne doit rien à Zorro, c'est un livre, avec une intrigue quasi policière, au temps où la Terreur chassait de France royalistes et autres privilégiés, ce qui donne une autre vision de la Révolution française qu'on aborde toujours sous l'angle du sans-culotte. Non, tous les nobles n'étaient pas méchants et bons pour la guillotine.....merci à nos ennemis héréditaires messieurs les Anglais de les avoir aidés.
