Easy to understand and use
Good for beginners, also for people familiar with Jin Shin (as I am). If you want philosophy or history there are other books. This book is great for when you need help right away and is small enough to fit into a purse or backpack. I bought it to learn new quick hand positions for various ailments and am not disappointed. This book is to the point, nothing to wade through and with good information that helps you understand what the energy is doing.

Lacking instructional illustrations.
This was a short and easy read of a quick introduction of the art of Jin Shin. I would have liked to see detailed illustrations of the “Safety Energy Locations,” though there are descriptions, I feel the descriptions alone are inadequate especially since this book is an introduction. I think a person would be more comfortable in beginning their practice of Jin Shin (based on this book) if diagrams of the SELs were included. The illustrations and descriptions of the “symptom” part of the book are pretty and straight-to-the-point. These would be perfect if the SELs were detailed earlier in the book but because if their absence, the “symptom” diagrams just are detailed enough. Overall, I am pleased that I took the time to read and look through this book as I had not previously been aware of Jin Shin. I look forward to reading more on the subject in the future.

didn't help me
I wanted to read this book because I have another book on trigger points that were extremely helpful. After reading all the good reviews I was hopeful this book would provide some relief for my fibromyalgia.I found this book to be a disappointment. None of the treatments made a difference to me.If you decide to get the book, I would recommend getting a hard copy instead of an electronic book. It was difficult to flip back and forth through the book. I felt I needed to bookmark the safety energy locations chapter and flip back to it when you are trying a technique. Diagrams and photos would have helped to explain the different locations on the body. The photos used for the treatment of each symptom were just black silhouettes. They were not close-up views or very detailed.I received this galley from NetGalley.

Impressive and Easy
A complete healing toolkit at your fingertips. Literally. Ms. Brink has given the history, the techniques and what you may find by doing them. I was fascinated that this practice is so old and has a history of its own in other cultures . To think that over thousands of years these pressure points and body postures could effect health and healing gives hope that many health items can be bettered in a hands on way. I am going to keep this book nearby as it covers many everyday problems like nosebleeds, back pain, you name it it may be covered here. This is a very worthwhile, simple but accurate offering for better health and immediate help.

Disappointing
I was expecting much more from this book. Like instructions. Yes I understand the hand positions. However, there is nothing that tells you how long you hold a certain position. How often to you do this to, for example, relieve back pain? How should you breathe while in these positions? Do you breathe normally? Or should you practice yoga breathing. After going through this book (which by the way is over priced,) I feel the need to go to YouTube.
