It gave me good service, so I bought a new one. First thing out of the box, the star drag did not work. Then it did, then it didn't. I went on and loaded about 100 yards of 15 lb mono line. Then the reel quit working altogether. I looked to see if perhaps some line was caught on the side of the spool. Nope. All was good. It just quit working (spinning). I shipped it back for a refund. BTW, I have 3 other 50 year old Penn reels that are all working fine. They were all built in the USA.
