Replacement for Honeywell M847D Damper Actuator Motor

I was a little hesitant to purchase these damper motors after all the bad reviews. Definitely thought I would be returning them, but they worked perfectly! They fit perfectly. I will say that the allen screw for the shaft is a little small, but you should only have to mess with that at time of install. Put a longer one in if it bothers you. These replaced my Honeywell M847D1004 damper motors that were not functioning anymore. We'll see how long they last, but for now I'm happy with them. Beats the $600 that the A/C repair company wanted.

This is my second one, the first one has been running fine for 2 years so far. I bought a couple metal gear actuators from a different company on Amazon that cost about $25 less and they worked fine but the return spring cycle (these are Normal Open/Power Close dampers) was very noisy. Maybe we have unfortunate ductwork but that's where the noise echoed throughout the house loud enough that we could hear it over the TV one floor above the HVAC room. The Jackson System actuators are far quieter, we don't hear them at all. If they only last 5 years, OK, at least they don't violate the happy wife-happy life rule, it's a lot cheaper than converting to a 3-wire system and they take literally 5 minutes to replace.

I took the snap cover off to look inside and this unit appears to use a plastic/nylon gear wheel so I'm not sure how long it's going to last. The original unit I replaced had a metal gear wheel which was still in good condition, but it's the electric motor in these things that typically go bad. Easy to install, just two wires.

Not a direct replacement for a M847D1004. This will not fit on the damper shaft. Damper motor is smaller than shaft on damper.

This damper actuator was to replace my original M847D1004. It is not an exact replacement. The main shaft inner diameter is just slightly smaller than the original Honeywell. Also the motor does not have the same range as the Honeywell so the damper will either be never open all the way or never fully closed. Disappointed.
