Good product really pleased, lots of features, works well.
I got one of these for a review on an I.T industry forum. I've had it for just about a year now and I like it a lot. I had never worked with a UPS with an LCD before, but once you have that you never want to go back. It looks about as you'd expect if you've seen the tower units from other vendors before. Often UPS (at least larger ones like this) are metal this one is plastic except the back plate. I don't see an issue with this though unless you plan to stack things on it or you think it seems cheap.Regarding it's functions so far i'd say i'm more pleased with this than the Philips or basic cyberpower units I had before. I've also seen a ton of APC brand units blow the batteries out from over-charging (supposedly fixed recently, but seems it took a long time to get fixed from what I've seen which turned me away from using APC.)Misc findings:If you have worked with units like this from APC, etc most have a physical breaker switch that can trip this one seems to do it some other way. Perhaps internal fuse which would be kind of silly or it's done in the unit's software and can be reset from LCD.I have noticed that an area on the top behind the LCD gets fairly warm even just charging. It's not concerning how warm it gets, but makes me wonder why they designed it this way. For some reason the fan is in the bottom part of the back panel which to me seems odd as heat rises and they have something near the top that is warm where the fan could be of more use. I expect they did for a reason, but is kind of strange (at-least to me).If you do get the network card for this the card has an internal web-server, and they also have software to manage large amounts of networked units like this. That software is fairly advanced and complicated, and if you only have a couple units it may be simpler and cheaper to manage from the web-server.The unit has a pair of SLA batteries wired in series for 24V battery power. 24V battery voltage is common on units this size. The batteries are shipped disconnected so you will need to remove the front face-plate and connect it before use.Pros:Decent price-point for a unit of this rating and with these features.Simple setup, battery is simple to change when needed.LCD screen and control buttons can configure outlets, protection settings, view issues, monitor load, voltage, battery.8 outlets for output consisting of a primary group of 4 and two other groups of two.Software to monitor and program it for things like shut down the system, if and how it will remove loads. As well as settings for minimum battery level.Ability to add network card to it. Older serial style and USB style system connection supported.Small fairly quiet variable speed fan to keep it cool.Cons:Can cost a good deal more than simpler units of the same rating. It does have a small variable speed fan in it while not loud it may not be the best for an office type setting.I sort of wish there was a way to make some outputs not UPS protected, the only way I can see to do this now is to configure it so that when the battery drops to like 99% it will drop that outlet pair(s).Due to the plastic case I would not put anything more than like 20 lbs on it (although I have my desktop sitting on it fine).
