2013 archive release from the '90s Pop legends. Radio Jellyfish contains 10 tracks culled from two international radio stops in 1993; one in Holland, the other in Australia. The foursome plays tracks from both LPs, and naturally some covers. Even taken out of the studio, and away from the stage, the sound is unmistakably Jellyfish. It's been well documented that the four members of the band could replicate the enormous sound of their albums through releases like Live At Bogart's and a bevy of B -sides. But, apart from one track first released on the out-of-print Fan Club boxed set (and included here), acoustic Jellyfish - without a net - has not been explored. That's nine previously unissued performances; tracks unheard since their international broadcast two decades ago.

You'll regret not buying this CD.....
I've been listening to Bellybutton and Spilt Milk for many years and most of the songs on this CD are on these two wonderful studio releases. Because of this I was wondering if it would be a waste of money to buy this CD. Let me just say abandon all doubt and buy it. This is a wonderful collection of songs and different enough from the original releases to make them worth listening to over and over. All the songs are acoustic and maybe even better than the originals. This is Jellyfish at their best. Where "Let It Be - Naked" failed to convey the raw talents of the Beatles, Radio Jellyfish succeeds brilliantly in doing so for Jellyfish. If you've not heard this CD you cannot fully appreciate this vastly underappreciated band.

Jellyfish unplugged
While you can listen to the Holland recordings via YouTube and find many others that way too, this CD is worth owning strictly based on the Australian studio recordings- especially 'Fan Club'. The vocal harmony is out of this world- no gimmicks or trickery.I am a big fan and was lucky to see them in concert in July of '93 at First Avenue in Minneapolis. If you are any true connoisseur of great music, this needs to be in your collection!

Complete the collection.
If you're looking at this, I trust your already a Jellyfish fan. With such a limited output to collect for one of the most unheralded bands ever, this is a must for current fans.If you've never heard or listened to Jellyfish much, you're better off starting with Spilt Milk or Bellybutton. They need to be heard in their full glory.

Yes, More Jellyfish
It is so cool of Omnivore to release more Jellyfish (and on vinyl) and this is another awesome addition to my collection. I love the cover of "I Can Hear The Grass Grow" as I remember them playing it when I saw them in 1993 in Va. Beach. Thanks Omnivore, what's next?

Cool disc. Even if you've burnt yourself out on the studio stuff, you'll enjoy these versions along with a cover or two.

Another CLassic
Everything that this band is associated with is great what a shame we only got the two studio albums but if the record companies want to milk it for all its worth im happy as im sure plenty of other fans are.

Acoustic Greatness
Fantastic acoustic set by one of my favorite short-lived bands. Love the harmonies that really pop when the music is stripped down to acoustic guitars and light percussion.

Absolutely loved it.
As a long time Jellyfish fan, I loved the sound quality. Even though I own the CDs, hearing the live performances is a treat.

Yes, you need to get it!
How superb that we keep getting (largely) new Jellyfish releases to keep us satisfied until that glorious moment when they all get back around a mic to sing RJM's "You Were Right" (without any irony!) and create/tour/record/love again. This album sounds excellent and maintains the quality of the rest of their catalogue. It contains acoustic versions of the listed songs with guitars, a "piano" and some percussion. The vocals - and the harmonies - are great, freed up by the overall lack of instrumentation. The recordings come from live sessions made in either Holland or Australia. you can tell that I Can Hear The Grass Grow and Joining A Fan Club are from a different session to the others but not to the extent that it makes them any less listenable. There are marvellous moments when the live element of the performances conjures up something magical. What they do with The Man I Used To Be is just wonderful. Don't have any doubts about getting hold of this album - you can't be a fan of this sublime band and not love what you hear. One final point. I bought the vinyl version and it doesn't include a download code for a digital copy, so be aware.

Must have for Jellyfish Fans
After discovering Jellyfish a couple of years ago, I decided to take the plunge into vinyl music. Without listening to any tracks from this album before (maybe apart from the first 30 seconds of 'I can hear the grass grow') I purchased it, looking forward to listening to it and hoping for something different. As regular Jellyfish listeners will know, the amount of layers of music that Jellyfish put into their music is out of this world, listening to Jellyfish through a good set of headphones allows you to hear all the different instruments used in each song that wouldn't normally be heard through a set of speakers. Considering this is a live album containing tracks that were stripped down, I was uncertain of how it would sound without the usual Jellyfish depth that we all know and love. From a previous review of this record the sound is unmistakably Jellyfish and if you are a Jellyfish fan, it is something you NEED to listen to.The vinyl itself is a beautiful clear record (if I can go back later to add photos I will), the outer and inner sleeves are full of enough colour to make your eyes bleed. If I had one preservation on this vinyl is that Andy Strumer's voice seems just slightly too quiet on some tracks. This could be down to my speaker set up (which I will play around with) but honestly, once you are a few tracks in, your ears adjust to it and all that Jellyfish goodness comes out.Definitely a must purchase for any Jellyfish fan.
