I bought this drive to replace another type which didn't work from the start. At first this one worked absolutely brilliant.It has never left the house, not been transported, dropped or damaged. It has had no accident and looks just like new. But from one minute to the next it just refused to work any longer. It tries to start itself but never gets going and then stays inert. I tried everything from rebooting the computer, to trying the drive on other computers, trying the last CDs/DVDs it played. Nothing.A real shame because I thought I had finally found a good product. But 4 months is all that it lasted for. Very disappointing!

Should've known from the start I'd been scammed. The roars of it to just rip a cd were crazy. You had to wrestle with the thing to get the disk out of it because it only opened slightly when finished ripping. Then the bloody disk spindle thing that holds the disk in place isn't properly attached to the drive. It's another piece of junk with this item. This is not a cheap item but it is an item to be avoided for sure. Now the spindle has totally destructed. Is it so hard to make a dvd drive that actually works. Evidently yes.

Not happy with this drive, the SD card reader and usb flash drive ports get red hot when transferring data and I mean red hot, this cannot be good for my SD card or usb stick. The drive also will not read some of my dvd -r disc’s. Mine thinking this will be going back for a refund.

My old external DVD drive finally conked out, so I was looking for a replacement. I ordered this one, as it looked good, had good features, and was a good price. It arrived very quickly. I plugged it in, expecting the usual easy plug and play. No dice. Computer refused to acknowledge its existence. I read the instructions, obeyed all the tips, plugged in the supplied power lead (something I didn't need with my old drive). Still nothing. I contacted the company to get a driver. A nice eamil arrived next day, with a link to the driver download. However, instead of the required driver, it was a program designed to assess your computer and give you a list of drivers you are missing. At this point I gave up. I'm not going to try and download half a dozen drivers that take an hour or two each, risking the smooth running of my computer and causing me a massive pain in the brain. Returning it in the next few days for a refund.

I brought it because my laptop didn’t have de dvd/cd driver. It is super easy to make it run. Also you can record cd and dvd. Works amazing. The design is nice and is very light. I’d recommend it without doubt. I’m not good at computer and this is extraordinary easy to use. It’s what I needed!

First class piece of kit for installing programs on my laptop. My new laptop has no dvd drive so i ordered this one based on reviews, plugged it in, inserted a disc and installed three programs in a matter of minutes. If i had any complaint it is the short length of the usb lead but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. Would recommend

It is as described, worked as soon as plugged through Windows Media Player, system is Windows 10. Have had it for a day, so far, so good.

Very good product and does exactly what it says on the tin. Very fast transfer of CDs and SD card reader. Very handy having the duel USB/USB C connection cable so it can be used with PCs/Laptops and Mobile phones/Tablets.The biggest let down is also the cable. It is far to short. OK if on a desk next to a Laptop but absolutely useless for connecting direct to PCs. It has to be connected via a USB Splitter. Most PCs these days are not supplied with CD drives so more of this type of device is needed more and more. The company should consider increasing the length of the cable to allow it to be connected easily to a PC.
