what a revalation this guy was. from the moment i first picked up my dad's old Fela records and dusted them off i was blown away by a dynamism i had not experienced before.Roy Ayres appearence, in some kind of coming together of nations, provides an extra dimention to the music. "2000 blacks" is probably the pick of the 2 tracks on the album. raw, pounding tribal drums, funky riffs, mad chants and epic 20 minute long tunes that build and build until they soar way above the earth's atmosphere.if you have never listened to Fela then go out and borrow an LP from a library or buy one somewhere because you won't be dissapointed in any shape or form. all you need is an open mind...
