not sure if annoyed or what
I was trying to upgrade the trim since I had to replace the mixer valve and balancer. I wanted a new look so I really like this. I was kind of disappointed when I opened it. At first, I was like "wow" but then as I unraveled the square trim piece, I frowned to find out it was shiny chromed plastic. Yes.....plastic.My old one was the round basic - clean design but the general workhorse. I specifically did not want plastic because even though the old valve eventually leaked, the metal trim and handle was still solid. A little tarnished but solid. If anybody knows chromed plastic, you know eventually the chrome will flake off. So beware.....this has a metal base to attach to and a metal handle, BUT the square trim piece that has the hot/cold lettering and lever line is PLASTIC. I guess for now, I won't install it but I will see if I can find something metal everything in the meantime.
