American made quality that will stand the test of time.
Solid, quality construction. You can tell that these will last a lifetime, and be passed down for generations to come. Handles are solidly attached. Lids fit snugly like a glove. Nothing flimsy about these. If you take the time to learn how to properly use stainless steel, you'll not have any problems with food sticking, either. Spend the money now, one time, and avoid the ever increasing cost of buying lesser, inferior products again and again every few years. These are an investment in your future gastro-happiness.

Works Well
This pan is great, though a lot of elbow grease is required to clean it thoroughly.

BEST PAN I EVER EVER COOKED WITH
COST/VALUEThis pan is amazing! My husband bought it for me and I had no idea how much it cost... otherwise I might have told him not to buy it. BUT I AM SO GLAD HE DID! I usually get everything cheap because I don't believe in miracle products that cost a bit more. But this pan is soooooo much better than anything I ever cooked with (and I cook a lot). WORTH IT!READ MANUAL I suggest reading through the short "manual" for it before using the first time. It really helps to know about what you should and shouldn't do when cooking/cleaning. I was able to sauté/brown some chicken thighs in some butter and oil at med/low heat (after pre-heating of course). It conducts and distributes heat SO WELL that you should never really have to cook with higher than medium heat. We bought the pan because I was using high heat to sauté some meat in a non-stick Teflon pan and our house smelled like a really unhealthy chemical smell. My husband was like, you need to cook with something else.EASY TO CLEANI didn't think that anything but Teflon would be easy to clean or keep things from sticking. But this pan is the EASIEST pan I have ever had to clean. So easy! TOO EASY! I used it twice within the first couple days of having it. I sound like a sales person or something, but it really is such a wonderful pan.SIZE/HEATWhen I first pulled the pan from the box, I thought for sure it would not fit on my glass cooktop. It looked huge. But it fit perfect on the largest cooking ring. I am so used to pans heating more in the middle than the edges, but I could sauté anywhere on the pan and the pieces in the middle cook at the same rate as those at the edges so I don't need to shift things around. I am about to have our 5th child, and I can easily make food for the whole family in this pan as they get older (YAY). Oh, and I am used to pans losing heat right away when I take them off the burner, but this one retains heat very well when you stick the lid on. I had dinner ready 5-10 minutes before everyone was ready to sit. I stuck the lid on the pan, and put it on some heat pads on the table. When everyone finally sat to eat, I lifted the lid and not just warm… HOT! And it stayed pretty warm throughout the meal as we dished out second helpings.FINAL THOUGHTSIf you could invest in one pan to ever sauté in, this is it! Save up for it if you need to. Having something this easy and healthy to cook in is so worth it!

Poor Manufacturer Quality Control
I evaluated my various purchase options carefully before adding this very expensive All-Clad D-3 6-Qt sauté pan to my cart along with a 12-inch All-Clad D-3 skillet. The 6-Qt sauté pan arrived first and upon unboxing it I discovered within seconds of handling it there was an extremely sharp burr (an obvious defect in the manufacturing process) on the long handle. I carefully ran my hand over the burr several times and it became obvious to me anyone using this pan would likely cut themselves severely even if they tried to be careful in the handling of the pan. I immediately returned the pan to Amazon and ordered a Tramontina 6-Qt sauté pan as replacement at a price that was far less than the All-Clad. There is just no excuse for allowing such an obvious defect to pass through Quality Control for a company that is supposed to have the reputation of All-Clad. For the price they charge for their products it is woefully unacceptable to me.

The pan is quality material
The frying pan is quality steel, but is very heavy. I thought I wouldn't use this large-sized pan, but it comes in handy when cooking something and not having to worry that ingredients will splash onto the stove or will spill over, or is too small. I am beginning to like it more and more. I have only washed it by hand. So far, it's been easy to clean without special cleaning agents.

My favorite pan
I have been using a previous model of this pan for almost 20 years. I gave my son my old one and purchased this as a replacement. It's exactly the same, it's my favorite pan in my arsenal. It's huge, and deep, you can do almost anything with it. Very heavy duty, excellent heat distribution, nice handle. Absolutely bullet proof. You will never have to replace it. I subjected my old pan to every extreme, from blazing hot to directly into cold water. No problem. Don't look at the price, just buy it. And know that you will have it forever.

My favorite pan broke and I ordered (serially) several replacements
Thrilled, thrilled, thrilled! My favorite pan broke and I ordered (serially) several replacements. This one finally did the trick. Yes, it is heavy. Yes, it is expensive. However, if you are cooking for more than 4 people this is a must have. for 2 reasons: 1) It is incredibly conductive--I've accidentally melted some cooking utensils because my previous pan was not nearly as good at heating the sides and I had developed bad habits of resting the spoon on the side. The way every part of this pan is cooking your food will impress you. I had to practice a little at first and adjust to how quickly it heats and how hot it gets, but now that I know what to expect I love it. 2) Really large surface area. I don't know how other people live without a 14 inch pan! If you want to make a one pan meal, you need this! It has the real estate to get the job done. This is an incredible workhorse of a pan and I use it almost every day. Two tips: a) You will probably need to turn your heat down from what you are accustomed to and b) it cleans up beautifully with bon ami cleanser.

The best!
I don't care for non-stick coating. I don't trust them. So, I ordered this all-clad. I was delighted to find that it cleans up very easily. Even on fried on stuff. It seems like they make the interior very smooth so things clean off easily. At worst you just have to soak it in water for a little while, then it cleans off nicely.
