Worth every penny
This awning saved our recent week of offroad camping. It works really well as designed but we used it on the ground sideways (like a curved wall) to block the cold wind as we huddled around an LP firepit. Once staked down, it can handle an impressive amount of wind. I only wish we'd had another one to block the wind from 2 sides! It goes together in about 2 minutes and back down just as quick. It packs away nicely in a small bag. I replaced the cheapo guyline ropes with 550 cord and I haven't messed with the suction cups. I love the versatility. This trip wasn't the first time we used it but with a little creativity it really shined on a couple of cold, windy nights. Every other member of our group vowed to get one of their own before our next adventure.

Yes, it fits over a horse trailer too!
Set it up over the backend of our old horse trailer, 14' long x 6' wide and 7' high, that we gave a quick makeover into a simple "Freedom Motel" camping unit. Testing it out at our home, so far so good. And yes we can even close the back door while this awning is on. We used all 4 poles in these photos, but 3 poles also work, you just have to be more careful when shutting the door. The suction cups provided, suck!, get better ones. My husband is going to drill holes through the sides of the trailer and anchor eye hooks, and use guy lines with carabineers and do away with suction cups or earth magnets all together. I realize that people can't do that to their vehicles, but it is a solution that will work for us, making set-up easier and more secure. Over all, we love it. Small and compact and relatively easily to put up. I added plastic pendant flags clipped to the guy lines so people will see them and not accidentally closesline themselves.

Quick Solution for Truck Camping
Just used this on our trip to Mount Pisgah NC. I set this up on the back of my camper shell to provide shade and protection from weather at the back of the truck. It worked well for our entire week-long trip. At night I would take the poles down and stake the end directly to the ground. The screen window is a plus when using it this way. We had moderate breezes and experienced no problems with stability. Set up takes a little while to get used to, but is no more difficult than other tents with fiberglass poles and clips. Can double as an awning for picnic table with additional poles. I used much heavier ground stakes than those supplied. Love the small packed size. Would like to see a few more clips instead of fabric ties at points where poles intersect, but ties do work. Just remember this is LIGHT WEIGHT rip stop nylon. Would like to see the same product in a heavier (thicker) fabric weight. Overall, great product and function for the money.

Ease to assemble and light weight
Used for the 4th of July and it was easy to set up and take down and did the job of keeping us dry from rain. Great product.

It's a great awning!
I bought it to try out with my truck camper. It held up well in the heavy rain (though I had to manage it when water collected in it). The poles are sturdy, easy to set up and break down. It folded up easily to fit back into the carry bag. I like it well enough that I would buy it as a gift for camping family members. I will have to add extensions to the poles to make it high enough for my door to open and close if I want to situate the awning at the entrance to the camper. But placed off to the side it was easy to set up. It comes with suction cup attachments that can't work on my rig, but on a smooth surface of an SUV it should work fine. Overall I think it's a nice addition to my camp set up. I'm pleased with my purchase.

A bitter disappointment
In theory, I liked it. But even the best ideas, when made with shoddy material, won't work. I have a picture the first time I used it, and it already had holes in it. But they were minuscule mostly, and I decided to overlook it because I wanted to go freaking CAMPING. Big mistake. This week I took my 91 year old dad camping and the thing just would not cooperate. You would get the suction cups affixed, and the poles would come apart. So you put the poles back together, and the suction cup popped off. It made me want to cuss, and almost made me hate camping. This week the seams ripped and it wouldn't hold the poles and so I trashed it and felt good doing it. But no product should make a person hate camping, and this one about did it, I'm sorry. You can do whatever you want, but I wouldn't buy this again, no way.

Buyer beware - Poor quality
Used for one week at the Burn and at first it appeared to be well made and what i was hoping for. When i went to pack it up I found all the inside loops had peeled the waterproof tape away… I didn’t even USE these loops so basically the sun and wind peeled the tape. I don't expect it to last but I’ll tape it up and cross my fingers.
