Great Product!
I bought this microwave when my other microwave quit working about a month ago. This microwave does it's job very well. The turbo defrost is fast and efficient. The sensory reheat and sensory cook reheat or cook the food thoroughly. There is no need to heat or cook again. I wanted this microwave because of this feature and the turbo defrost. If you cook normally, it does a great job as well. The only feature I haven't figured out is the level of power. I can change it but do not know how to incorporate it in the cooking. Once I change it to a lower number (recommended for defrost) and hit defrost, it does not stay at the number I selected. The manual does not tell me how to fix this. I would like to know how this feature is supposed to work so I can use it. Overall, this microwave is an excellent one and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new microwave.

Big Improvement in Intermediate Countertop Microwaves
This is a review for the Panasonic Microwave NN-SN651B, written in December, 2017. This is an intermediate-size countertop microwave, with inverter technology. Please note that Amazon sometimes shows reviews of older models with the reviews for current models. Check the date of any microwave oven reviews you read to get only reviews of similar products. We are very pleased with this model. We like Panasonic because of the inverter technology: When you set the power level, the actual power level changes, rather than the power going on and off. This helps avoid spills and overcooking. There were negative reviews about previous models of this size and type: noisy motors, venting problems, hard-to-open doors, and lights not going on when the door opened. All of those problems have been resolved. The power has been increased from 900W in our previous model to 1200W, so everything cooks faster. Our previous model rotated the microwaves, rather than the food (which increases the useable interior space), whereas this model rotates the food. However, the interior space in this model is well designed to fit relatively large dishes. The result is a faster and better microwave oven, for a very reasonable price. If you do not have room for a large countertop microwave, we highly recommend this model.

So far so Good!
*************Update************ so I bought this microwave in 2018 and it's April of 2024 and it's still kicking and working just as when bought. I have no complaints except maybe the usual popcorn button is useless like in most microwaves. I don't use the reheat button and the defrosting settings are just bad as it basically cooks the frozen meat. I only use it to heat food and I also use one of those covers that helps prevent the food from drying and keep moisture in the food. I love it still and use it daily. very very skeptical and nervous when searching and choosing a microwave due to the horrendous decline in manufacturing quality and materials being used. Many sites have alarmingly stated how bad and how often these new microwaves fail within months or the first two years.A very different way when microwaves used to last decades. But i used to have a general electric white microwave which the top and back paint was peeling plus it was oldish and did leave cold and frozen spots often when heating up. so when looking at microwave reviews this was the only one that fit the bill with the size and it has an internal light that turns on when you open the door and also while in use which many others that were highly rated didnt have (kind of a standard thing that every microwave oven should have). I will also state that in many reviews its recommended to get a warranty when buying a microwave also because they fail alot. In any case i have had this model for about 3-4 months and so far the heating works great. I will say if your trying to heat food from the fridge its best to use the sensor reheat mode because other wise the one minute will still have cold food and even the two minute reheat. The sensor reheat works very well even in the low setting but may be a bit overboard but rather have hott food then warm and cold food. Outside of the the defrost option works better then my last microwave but still bad i mean i hate when the meat starts to cook instead of just defrosting so i wouldnt use this feature unless you really had to and no longer than 3-5 minutes tops, a con of this microwave for me is that the touchpad has a plastic cover that gets damaged very easily and does look ugly mine already is messed up and wished they had made it better but buttons still work fine just is a sore sight. another downside for me is that the door is made out of cheaper plastic and wished it was made of a better material but still just being picky. Overall this unit for me has worked great and i did go ahead and bought a 4 year warranty to be safe. If you need a microwave this is a good one to get however please be aware that this whole new fad about microwaves causing cancer or degrading food or damaging your dna is pure bull crap the facts are that microwaves actually doesnt damage nutrients like heating on the stove does and microwaves in truth are way to weak to cause cancer or even damage your dna. The only thing that microwaves can do to harm you is disrupt your wifi but for me this hasnt been the case with this model and my kitchen isnt near my router.

This microwave may be the most perfect one ever made. Now, let's hope it lasts more than 13 months.
The. Best. Microwave. Ever. For me. Consumer reports said to get a microwave with a sensor and they were 100% right. Everything magically works - cooking, reheating and defrosting by sensor is amazing. More powerful than any microwave I have ever owned. Dear Panasonic, a "Quick Min" should be 30 seconds and upon pressing the button, the microwave should immediately turn on for the specified time. Hitting the button should automatically add that much more time. If I have to hit start anyway, it's not as quick as it could be, now is it? - Rob PS. People constantly say that your microwaves simply don't last. At all. I had one a ways back and it didn't last either. Why can't you make a more durable product? What can we do to make sure your microwaves last longer? PPS. I got this microwave for $85 via Warehouse Deals. It was just a damaged box, not a customer return. Still, best. microwave. ever.!!!

Wonderful Microwave
I purchased this microwave in 2016, seven years ago, and never had a problem with it. If you want a microwave that is built to last and is feature-rich, then this is a must-have. Today is October 1, 2023, and the microwave is still going and going. When it finally dies, I will quickly buy another one. I am wondering if I should go ahead and buy another one to have on the shelf. The most important feature that sets this microwave apart from the rest is the Inverter Technology. I purchased the 4-year Assurance warranty because I was a GE and Amana guy, but this microwave converted me to a Panasonic guy. This microwave outlived the warranty, therefore, I lost money purchasing the warranty. I love items that outlive their warranty. We use this microwave three to five times a day on average. I have a lot of kids. You do the math. I just finished cooking in the microwave this morning.

Horrible and painfully hard for disabled people to use with an update
I was originally going to give this thing 3 stars because it worked well for the first 3 months. The problem at the beginning was that the buttons had to be pushed too hard for someone whose painful fingers don't work so well. At some point in October, 3 months after I bought this thing, I thought at first that it was dying because I would set the time, punch start, it counted down one second and turned off. Everything in it was properly set and I always keep my microwave spotless. It kept doing this day after day. I finally realized that if I slammed the door, most times it would work. So, now I have to slam the dang door every time, which is very painful for me. As I am disabled and have no one to help me, I am not able to return this thing to the factory nor to Amazon even if they would accept it. Nor do I have the money to buy a new one, so, I am stuck having to endure pain, just to use this microwave! Thanks, Panasonic. I had enough pain without this headache. I have owned only 2 microwaves before this piece of junk. Both were Sharp and both lasted for over 20 years without a single issue. NEVER AGAIN PANASONIC!! You should be ashamed to have your name on this product!!!! UPDATE: Three months ago, the light went out, but the microwave part worked okay. About a week later, the light came on, and again, I had to slam the door to make the microwave start. A few days later, the light went out again, but, went out the next day. It has come on one more time for about 3 hours. Do you know how hard it is to microwave without being able to see the food inside??? Something is so messed up with this microwave. Save yourself some trouble and DO NOT BUY!!!!

Thumbs up Panasonic microwave
This is my third microwave in 10 years. The last two being expensive over the range type that didn't last, I decided to stop wasting money and try this cheaper this countertop model. It is plenty large enough for anything I want to heat: a casserole, a plate of leftovers, etc. The noise level is normal, somewhat loud. What impresses me most is its strength for a 1200 watt microwave. My other microwaves were higher wattage, but this one heats much more quickly and evenly. My favorite feature is the child lock, press a button to lock, and small children can't turn it on. Press 3 times to unlock. Easy and effective. I have owned it several months, and have yet to read the instructions. All the functions are simple and intuitive. My only complaint is with the timer function: when using the timer alone, it only beeps a few times and stops. If there I leave the room for a moment and the timer goes off, I don't hear it and because it doesn't require any button pressing to silence it, I occasionally don't realize that time is up. This has led to slightly burnt items in my oven a few times. No big deal. I can use an egg timer for that purpose. Overall, I think it was a good purchase and I would buy again.

Even cooking!
My old microwave died after years. Got this one and I have to say that it does do what it claims. It heats much more evenly than my old one. The description of this one said the old technology just pulses on and off periodically depending on the power settings. This one actually seems to go to a lower, but constant power. Great for defrosting, or even cooking something raw. The eveness of the power setting works very well, as does the heat sensor. I like that the door doesn't slam, but closes fairly quietly. It does beep five times when done, but I didn't find it annoying. All in all, a good purchase. I was going to go for one about 20 bucks cheaper since I'm on a tight budget, but the quality on this is worth it. Plus it weighs less and takes up a bit less room than others of comparable watts.

Panasonic NN-SN651BAZ Black 1.2 Cu. Ft Countertop Microwave Oven with Inverter Technology
Very nice Microwave but make sure it's suitable for your country. I bought this for the UK but sadly had to return it due to the US voltage it uses.
