Worst coffee, it that it was, I have ever tasted decaf or otherwise. Most peculiar smell and tasted like something from a ditch, don't bother

I have bought lots of Illy ground coffee and it is generally quite good. Their decaf using the Swiss water method is notable as many use a cheaper chemical-laden wash. BUT this is not the full tin as Illy still sell. It is HALF the tin at TWICE the price. I didn't notice until I tried to stack these tins on top of the larger 250g tins. Okay, if you want a smaller tin say for travelling. The size is clearly stated in the ad, just not prominent in the title. Click Bait. Is Illy complicit in this? I might look for a more reliable brand. I have plenty of the empty cans now

It's advertised is being suitable for any brew preparation but the grind was far too coarse to work with our espresso machine (a Breville).

Coffee was missing the lid so could not be kept in it original packaging. This was probably amazon's mistake.

Great taste

I have no issues with Illy decaf coffee itself, it's a great coffee considering it's decaf, I have always and will continue to purchase Illy's decaf. I read that they use the CO2 extraction process which uses no toxic solvents behind, unlike some others. However, with this particular purchase, I have received a nearly expired tin - a few months to go, but they usually have another year to go before expiry. I have been given old stock, this means the coffee will have degraded more. This is unacceptable.

The presentation is quite impressive - a metal tin with lid. I cut my hand opening the lid due to the very sharp edges - so not a good start. Normally whenever a new bag of coffee beans or gound coffee is opened there is a pleasant coffee aroma. Not from this can. Finally, I found the coffee itself to be too finely ground, almost like dust. This caused my espresso machine to have great difficulty actually making the coffee. It is no surprise that I consider the resulting coffee to be mediocre. As soon as I could obtain more of my regular decaf ground coffee I threw the rest of this stuff in the bin. I won't be buying any more of this!

Love the quality of the box. Not cheap but worth it.
