Great cover
I have oval pool and customer cover costs 4 times this one. Is same quality and it’s easy to drill the holes to attach. Get a drill and bits at harbor freight for cheap. Kept pool crystal clean over the winter. Looking forward to next season as was easy to install and remove. Just don’t tighten it too much. I made that mistake and snow weight broke half the springs. Leave some flex so it can go down to ice level if it needs to. Oh and I fell in and it held my weight and I rolled across and got wet but I didn’t go through so is good for safety if that’s the purpose.

very good after a tough winter with a month of ice
i got this to replace an old 16x32 merlin. this is a lot lighter than the merlin and the mesh is a hair bigger. getting that extra foot around the pool is so helpful. the length covers the end steps. did have to drill some new holes but it was surprising easy. spent a little money on $20 masonry bits but they cut like butter. the lighter weight is so much easier to install and remove. only had it one winter but what a winter, a few 2 ft snow storms and then a month of the snow freezing into ice. i dont see any damage on the cover. i did use the old merlin strap hardware/springs on this new cover because of some of the reviews.

Go for it
It fit well from the very beginning and held up well over the winter and looks good. Product seems to do as it describes. I'm very pleased.

Survived under winter of heavy snow & ice
This pool cover performed well during a pretty extreme New England winter (2025-26) with several 12" or more storms plus ice within a few weeks of each other. I was concerned as it stretched a surprising amount under the snow and ice load because I could not keep up with removing it from the cover. It looked like we didn't leave enough water in our pool, but we closed it the same way we've been doing it for 12 years with the old safety cover. The load actually proved too much for the spring hardware, 10 of which actually broke. You might think I'd give a poor review for that, but considering what the cover itself withstood, I'm glad that the failure point was the spring connections and not the pool cover material or the straps. Unfortunately SPQ Brands is completely unresponsive to customer support calls (left them two messages), emails (sent 2), and claims tickets (they had an online tool that's supposedly for customer service). However, it was easy and relatively inexpensive to replace the springs, so once I was able to access the straps and brass hardware in the patio, the cover was back in place. I do think the "panels" in between the straps throughout the cover could be a bit tighter / less saggy, but maybe that's the compromise for being somewhat stretchy. I tighten the cover so the springs are about 25% compressed to keep it taught, and I'd describe the material to be quality, medium-heavy, and sturdy. The pictures posted show the snow on the cover & the cover in the spring, after the hardware was replaced.

Three Years Old and Still Excellent Condition
Waited 3 years to write review. Purchased Oct.2022. Has held up well for over 3 years. Cover is on from October to April, stored indoors May to September. Easy to remove, about 30 minutes to install each fall. I use wd40 on the bolts twice per year or they will bind. Overall pleased with how this has held up for the price paid. Dog and children have walked across it no problem. Initial install of drilling holes in concrete took 3 hours and 4 masonry bits. This type cover is better for seasonal on/off use, not daily use.

Poor Quality and Terrible Customer Service
I purchased this cover a year and a half ago and it seemed well made. During this winter - the second one for the cover - holes started to form. I contacted the warranty manager and she immediately said this was damage and not a defect and she refused to honor the warranty. This cover is in a fenced off area not used by anyone and has no overhanging trees. There is nothing that could have contacted the cover and as you can see in the photos the 2 sets of 3 holes run in a perfect line along the length of the cover. In the last correspondence the warranty manager refused to acknowledge any potential defect and stated that it looked like squirrel damage. Really disappointed and angered by this experience. If there is no warranty then just state that and allow consumers to knowingly take a gamble. Please avoid this company.

Durable, long lasting, easy to install
Best purchase we’ve made in regards to safety! We have had this pool cover for 6 years and it is still holding up just like the first day we got it. It is so strong and durable! The material is thick and has withstood our dogs running across it when they get the zoomies, my husband walks across it each year to test it to make sure our kids, pets and neighbors are safe, and we it has held up in storage well during the summer months. The size was perfect for our pool and was fairly easy to install and drill the holes around the pool. Considering how long we have had it, I’d definitely say it is well worth the money!

Well made and looks good
This is a great pool cover it is good quality and strong material. Installation took WAY more than just a couple hours. When installing having 2 to 3 people available to help is pretty important. Our pool is an odd shape so removing all handrails and hardware needed to be done. You need a sharp 3/4 masonry bit and a good hammer drill. Sharp is key, we started with an older, duller one and it was slow going. Once we got a new bit the job went much faster. A shop vac or blower is very useful, make sure you wear a respirator or mask. We found that after we marked the points, one person drilling, one person cleaning dust, and one person installing the anchors was the best and fastest way. This still took us around 8 hours though due to trial and error and removing hardware etc. After the fresh bit it went much faster.

Easy to Install
The product is a good product. We did have to purchase a new drill bit to match the size of the brass clips. We wish we could have thought to get a longer product that would have covered our stairs into the pool. We just measured the pool and purchased the cover to match.

Recomendada

One time drilling into concrete should make for easier pool shut down and start up 🤞🤞
Quality of cover and fastening hardware appears to be excellent. I took a chance ordering a cover meant for a 16'x40' pool for my 17'x41' pool (includes 6 inches of plastic coping all around the pool). The actual size of the cover for a 16x40 pool is 18x42. Fingers crossed when the Ottawa, Canada often deep winter snow arrives.
