This is the watch to get if you need a timeless look that isn't an overly flashy or gaudy sportwatch/diver. I would not use this for any outdoors activities or water-related tasks such as showering, pools, or lakes and beaches. I bought this for a casual daily driver that looks great with a dress shirt or with a t-shirt out at the store.Pros:1. Great timekeeping. Have had mine for a few weeks, and the time is still accurate to the minute when I first set it.2. Leather band and case are both extremely comfortable. No metal band means your arm hair isn't going to get ripped off when you move your wrist, and the entire thing is light weight enough to not be a bother. The light weight does not impact build quality at all.3. Classy look. One crown, very subtle. Lugs aren't overbearing, so the average male wrist will wear this great. This is what a daily driver aims to be for casual and business casual wear.Cons:1. This isn't a sports watch, and it's not a diver. If you're working in the field, and if you're going to be doing real manly labor, I would not wear this. You're going to want something heavy duty. Its difficult to see from the pictures, but the face itself protrudes out, and is slightly domed. If you bang this up against a hard surface frequently, I wouldn't expect this to last. Still worth having in your collection if you want to keep 1 dressy watch and 1 activity watch.I could only come up with this one con. Anything else that could be brought up, such as stopwatch features, are clearly not on this watch. If you need a timer function, you will want to look elsewhere. I bought this because it didn't have a metric ton of different gauges and sub dials inside the case. You're getting a solid seconds hand, and very clear H:M hands. No lum, no numbers at 12, 3, 6, and 9. This is exactly what i expected and love it immensely. It gets great feedback from family and strangers to boot.

This watch is fantastic. I have never had a watch powered by light sources so I wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the horror reviews. I have light source powered calculators that have worked great so I thought I would take a chance. I couldn't be happier with a watch. It is every bit as nice looking as in the picture. What you don't get in the picture is when the light catches the numbers or hands they just sparkle. When I received the watch and opened the Citizen box the watch was already running. I felt that was a good sign. The date was so simple to set I did it from reviews telling other people how to set the date who were unable to set it. I didn't have to look in the book. I set the date from reading a review describing how to do it and it is quite simple. I leave the watch in a spot that catches the light from a close window. The watch has run since I received it and set the time and date. It has not lost a second. It is keeping perfect time. Through my experience with this watch I would not hesitate to purchase it.

I have a number of watches, mostly inexpensive. In my experience, cheap watches keep better time than expensive ones, just as cheap pens write a lot better than pens that sell for hundreds of dollars. However, lately, all my cheap watches started giving me wrist skin irritations, all caused by their cheap metal corroding over time against my skin.I had no idea that it was the watches that gave me those skin irritations. I thought it was an old case of latent poison ivy, making a comeback. It was a watch repairman that explained to me that such skin irritations were commonly caused by cheap watches.Searching the internet then for a reasonably priced watch, that would not cause all those skin problems, I chanced upon this watch. After reading a few of the reviews, I ordered it.I have to say that the watch is wonderful, all elegance and class, and accurate. Also, the fact that I never have to worry about batteries for it, is fabulous.The only problem I had with it was the wrist band, a common problem with all watches sold in the USA (hence, 4 stars instead of 5). The band was too short and I had to get a longer one. But that was a small price to pay for such an excellent item. All my wrist skin problems have disappeared since I started wearing it, and of course, I could not be happier.

I think this watch was the most stylish watch that I could find: I compared between both Seiko and Citizen solar powered watches. I particularly like the fact that this watch has the second hand, although the fact that it has "illuminated" second hand does not appear to be true. It exhibits an air of professionalism without being overly gaudy, pretentious, or flashy. I would say it is functionalist in it's design. The leather appears to be of very high quality. The date function is a nice touch too. I am looking forward to not having a watch with a dead battery. It was ticking right out of the box, so I am assuming it must have some mega capacitors in it, or is especially energy efficient. I haven't compared the specs. to the other Seiko that I bought for my wife, but I wish that Citizen made a women's version of this watch. The men's version is a nice size, though! Great watch for the price!

Stunning watch, perfect size, not too big, not too small. It's quite lightweight, you barely notice it on your wrist, a feature I prefer in a dress watch. The face color is slightly off white, more of a milky white - like 1% milk. The band tapers from 22mm at the case down to 18mm at the buckle and is a nice leather with alligator style embossing. The band's length is good too; my wrist is around 7-7.25 inches and I use the fourth hole from the end. Also, the second hand and minute hand line up perfectly with the indices, which is something not all of my Citizen watches do. I don't mind if a watch doesn't line up, but I really appreciate when one does. The crystal is slightly raised, so I think I'll always be a little nervous about scratching it, but I really like it.

The watch itself is nice. But watch face only 38mm not 40mm. Feel pretty small. Disappointed.

Doesn't have the quality I expected. Not sure if that's just how the watch is made but I can find better for the price range.

I love this watch. Classic and clean look.This is almost a replica of my Patek Philippe calatrava and I got this Citizen at a great price.

Bought this as a Christmas present for myself. Needed a watch to go with a dark suit and this is perfect! Have the brown and gold version as well so now I have a watch for every occasion!

Really love the clean look of this watch. The face is simple and elegant. I might swap out the synthetic leather band, but I think that the watch itself is gorgeous and good value. The solar recharging is an awesome feature as well.

This is a great watch for the price. The leather strap fits perfectly and feels very comfortable on the wrist. The watch has a simple yet beautiful timepiece. The perfect watch to be worn for any occasion.

Great watch at a very competitive price. Mine arrived this morning and I'm very pleased with it. It's just the size I wanted and looks like a quality item.
