"It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs."
Okay, so there's not much need for another review of Lego's Millennium Falcon (#75105), but I like this set too much to not write about it. I've loved Legos and Star Wars since I was a kid, but I felt I was getting a little too old to indulge in Star Wars Legos when they first came out in 1999. With all the excitement over the past two years with the new films, and the really cool sets coming out, I finally gave in. I bought the U-Wing, Poe's X-Wing, and the TIE Striker. Now, the Falcon sits next to them in my living room. The build is really enjoyable. After the first ten minutes, a couple of plates snap together to give you the iconic Falcon shape. That was a really inspiring moment that just furthered my excitement and anticipation. I ended up building the model over a few days, maybe one to two hours a day. There are a few repetitive parts, such as the sections that form the sides of the ship, or the triangular pieces that make up its dome. But the interior is a lot of fun to build, and every step closer to the finished ship is really satisfying. The instructions are clear, but I found myself needing to flip back to previous pages a few times because I had missed some pieces, or connected things incorrectly. The build definitely takes focus. Lots of counting bumps and second-guessing. One technique I eventually hit upon was to set aside all the pieces illustrated in the box on each page before starting to connect them. That way I knew if I had completed the page. The finished ship is amazing. It's really sturdy and heavy. I do wish the top panels fit together a little better, with smaller gaps. The interior could also be a little deeper. It's really expansive and has several areas, but it feels shallow to me. I also wish the gun turrets were a little more impressive. I'm not sure how to do that, but the completed section just makes me go "Oh. That's it." But I really do like the set. I love all the colors inside; they make me think about how the Falcon, especially at the time of THE FORCE AWAKENS, is held together by duct tape and hope. It's patchwork and spliced together. The minifigures also need mention. I'm really excited to have Han, Chewie, Rey, and Finn as part of my little collection. The two Kanjiklub Gang members are also cool, but why do they have the old pirate guns I used to play with when I was a kid?

A fantastic update of an old classic!
This set is great, it's basically an update of the Millennium Falcon set they have been using for over a decade but they have made improvements in the design to make it more sturdy and I like the addition of the stud shooters on the front which makes it a better play set for kids. The interior detailing is better than any of the previous versions, especially in the seating area. The minifigs included are great too with everyone you'd expect plus two thugs from one of the scenes that features the falcon. I only have two complaints and they are: 1. The blue tube for the engine is a bit too short in my opinion, the older versions included a longer one that wrapped farther around and looked more like the movie. 2. Stickers, UGH! Im not a fan of all the stickers that Lego uses now for detail instead of actual printed parts like when I was a kid, but its not a major thing as long as you take your time and get them on straight. As an adult collector this set is going to be sitting on a shelf most of the time. Kids who actually play with this thing though are going to have issues with the stickers fading/coming off eventually. Overall, I am highly pleased with this set and am glad it is part of my collection, I particularly like the new deflector dish although that was more of a movie change and Lego appropriately followed suit. 9.5/10 guys!

If you like Lego and Stars Wars it's hard to go wrong with this purchase.
my 6.5 year old really wanted this as a prize for a goal we set for him. It was much more than we wanted to pay, but when he agreed to chip in half with his hard earned savings we gave in and purchased it. He was able to do more than 90% himself. He made errors here and there and I watch over as he built it to correct the errors. This ship is quite complicated and one small piece out of place is the difference between all of the top panels lining up and being able to close and a lot of frustration. It took my son about one week to complete, working on it a few hours a night after camp this summer. In the end it's really a beautiful ship. I was quite surprised how much I personally liked it once it was done. From the pictures I viewed online it looked a bit shoddy, but once complete the beauty shines through. It's really about the little details including the holo chess board, all the little compartments and the mess of parts toward the back of the ship, which is what you expect on the Millennium Falcon. The many mini figures, big deck, and number of compartments and moving parts make for lots of fun for someone with a good imagination. Some negatives I would say are that my son really wants to pick it up and fly it, but it's really awkward to hold and if this thing falls on the floor it's going to be a mess and a very sad day. I'd say it's pretty much for playing with on a table. The cockpit window was really tough for us to put on. I haven't had a chance to look closely to see if we have a part out of place since it was the last piece to attach and my son wanted to play immediately. He really won't be able to take the cockpit cover off and on for play. This may just be a mistake in building on our part. Anyway, it's minor and at this point he could care less. Also, the landing gear is quite short so you don't have good access to the bottom of the ship. It's hard to play with the gun turret on the bottom or have a mini figure really enter the through the lower latch. On the other hand I can imagine that the ship would look worse and be more unstable with longer landing gear, so I guess this is a compromise and Lego probably took the right route. It's hard to see someone who likes Lego and Star Wars not loving this set. It takes a long time to build, so it's very fulfilling when it's complete. It's very detailed with lots of moving parts and lots of cool mini figures so it's fun to play with and it really has a lot of details so it looks good just as a display.

Built this lego set with my SO. We had a lot of fun doing it. Lots of detail in this set, and it will keep you occupied for a while! Took us a good half day to put it together, makes for a great weekend activity. Instructions were clear as usual with lego sets. Great "brick to dollar" ratio, with just over 1300 pieces. When put together it's quite large, and displays nicely - the land gears do a good job of keeping it up without having to worry about it tipping over or anything. I proudly display this on my TV bench now. Overall very happy with the design, quality and value of this set.

This set was a huge hit for my 12 year old daughter. Any kid who loves Star Wars and lego will definitely love this set. It takes a fair amount of time to build and you certainly can't rush it given that so many of the pieces are the same color. It is the perfect 'quiet time' activity for any kid. Younger kids would definitely need some adult help.

The shipment arrived the next day. My 10 years old son was able to put it together in 4 hours. He loved the time building it, finding it engaging and loves exploring and showing the difference compartments. This is the perfect gift for Lego lovers.
