Works perfectly with my John Deere 955 tractor and starts the engine perfectly. Tried another brand which bolted on ok but would not mesh with the flywheel. Performed some measurements and found difference from the original starter I was replacing. Some non-OEM parts are not made to specification. Thankfully this DB brand was precision machined to a tight enough specification that it engaged the flywheel properly. Quality part that saved me a lot of money not needing to go to JD dealer.

The starter motor on my John Deere 870 compact tractor has been going bad for several months resulting in intermittent starting. I called around and no one rebuilds starters anymore. My local John Deere dealer offered to sell me a refurbished starter for $450 or a new one for $633.This starter was much more affordable, easy to install, and arrived quickly. Got my tractor up and running again and I'm back to work!

The starter fit perfectly. Easy install. These don't have the tab on inside bolt like oem does. So you can use a socket to tighten. Wires plugged in no issue will see how long it lasts..seller was good they had the starter packed well no damage in shipping and a good price......would recommend

Starter came as scheduled well constructed and packaged. With test data sheet. It did not have the lobe on the engine side that makes access to the mounting nut difficult that other subs models have. The one improvement that could be made is providing the female connector for the solenoid input. It lookes like a special type that would have screws to hold it in place. I used a 12 gauge female spade that is not the correct size and am concerned with the loose fit. I would have given it 5 stars but for this. Living in the country it took a lot of time to find a solution that would work when providing a low cost part would have made the replacement much easier.

I was amazed at how inexpensive it was for a JD starter! The OEM version was $450 before tax and shipping, while this one was only $79 with free shipping! IT is a better design than the OEM version, solid, and starts the tractor faster. Easy to install and comes with detailed QC test sheet with the unit. VERY HAPPY!Art V

The starter fit like the original John Deere starter. It was easy to install and my tractor will start now. I am happy.

A bit smaller than factory original made it MUCH easier to install than it was removing the factory original. Spray painted coat of John Deere green on it before installation, and it looks great too.

I bought this starter for my John Deere 750 tractor in June 2017. I am now ordering a NEW starter since the one I bought in 2017 failed! This should have lasted more than one year since the original equipment lasted some 35-40 years!
