Great device that saved the day
This device saved the day for me. I used it to power my top-end desktop PC that I shipped from overseas. It handles the pressure very well. It produces absolutely no sound, and doesn't occupy much space. Of course it's very heavy, but that's understandable. The instructions are very confusing and there is no manual. So, what you have to do is to set the red switch on the BACK to 110 and NOT to 230 for your device to work in the US. It took me some time to figure this out and I was a bit worried at first that it was not working properly. I'd suggest that you connect this to one device only. If your device doesn't require so much power, get the one with less watts. It will be much better than connecting it several devices for space and effeciveness.

Works well thus far. No humming sound!
So far so good~ It's very quiet when turned on (in that it doesn't making humming noise that I hear from other cheaper converters I have). You can only hear a slight humming only if you press your ears to the device (and won't hear it even if it's like 1cm away!). Very quiet!!! It's fairly heavy, but the flat profile, means it takes a bit less space. It might be nice if they actually provided a vertical mode for it (I can't turn it on its side since it has ventilation holes on the sides). It has worked well with both a rice cooker we got from Korea as well as a Samsung ML-1640K laser printer we brought from Korea as well. I also like the fact that it works in reverse, so it'll be useful if I ever decide to move to a 220v area.

Glad I bought it
I’m in the Philippines and everything here is 220 so having this to use my items from the USA is a game changer. It’s heavy but much lighter than my previous one.

It's industrial looking, but it works.
The unit works perfectly. It's solidly constructed and silent in operation. I use it to run multiple UK appliances in the US (110 - 220V step up) and I've had no problems. In fact, it's worked so well I regret giving away some of my other 220V items that I could have kept and run through this device.I have two minor issues that take it away from a 5 star review: The power switch is mounted on the rear of the unit meaning that you have to pull it away from the wall every time you want to switch it on. It would be much easier if this was front mounted There is no cable storage meaning it's a bit untidy.

highly recommended
This device has been serving well for years. I live abroad with 110V supply and need this device to supply my various tools, etc. with 220V. Perfect

I had to send this back, but now wish I hadn't.
Yep, my wife made me send it back, because she no longer needed to have two in the house. Her foreign bought rice cooker used it, until she purchased one in the states. I also have items purchased overseas that required the transformer, so I used the rice cooker one for that and purchased this one. Well, I sent this one back, but alas, my transformer purchased from overseas finally died last week, and I'm stuck without the use of my appliance. Boo hoo. You might want to get this one, it does work well, I've experienced it firsthand. Perhaps I'll get it once again, when the time is right.

252V instead of 220-240V?
By all means, I wanted to keep. It has a solid quality hardware looks but and produced no sound or smell of any type. It is a toroid transformer so should be of high efficiency. All the being said looks could be deceiving. What it lacks is precision when it comes to output Voltage. I got it to be used with German made medical equipment that is specified for 220V with +-10% tolerance. That's is why 240V output would still be OK. Once I received this transformer I decided to be on a safe side and test using Multimeter before plugging anything of value into it. To my disappointment output showed 252V instead of maximum tolerable 240V. It is good I have checked before it ruined my electronics. Sorry, but it is going back.

I have been using transformers for a while, usually ...
I have been using transformers for a while, usually for step-down purposes. This is the first transformer that is serving me as a step-up transformer. While I don't know how it operates in a step-down mode, I can say that in my case is completely and utterly silent which is extremely important to me since it is serving in my musical studio control room. Not a hum! This is the first time that I do not have to apply any, and I mean any sound treatment around it. Besides that, it is much lighter than other transformers I have (and I have or had at least a dozen of them). Two more are already in my stand-by shopping list waiting for the rest of my equipment to arrive from Europe. I cannot testify for its durability, however, since I've been using it for only a couple of weeks now. Rest assured that I will update this review should any unexpected failures happen.
