For the Record: A Personal Facts & Document Organizer Paperback – January 2, 2007

My wife and I are using this book to document all the important items we need to have ready for an end of life issue that will help our children in addressing estate matters.

It has some good parts, but didn't quite meet my needs. Fast delivery. I will use it, but I'll have to add some pockets or something for the actual documents.

It's a good book and very necessary. I lost my first husband and didn't have any of his information memorized or at hand when this happened. Now I know the importance of having all this stuff. Only issue is that it doesn't ask for more than one spouse info and I also want the personal information for my father and mother. It's actually something important and needed when you have custody of your siblings.

In general, I agree everyone should have their personal information written down somewhere for their families to have in case of an emergency but I don't believe this is the organizer to do it with. The style is outdated and oriented toward the "pre-internet" days.It is oriented towards someone that only has one bank, in a brick building with one checking and one savings account, one insurance carrier with a local office you go to, one investment manager with a local office... These days both my personal banks are online, my insurance is online, (two different companies) , I have more than one life insurance policy, my investment portfolio is online without a broker... "For The Record" does not meet my needs for keeping my personal information in one place.This organizer is not a complete waste of money but could be a MUCH better tool if it was updated. I tossed it into the trash shortly after receiving it in the mail.

This book is exactly what i was looking for to get this information organized! It will be helpful to me now and my family when I'm gone.

Did not really reach my expectations. Good for someone just starting out and needs to keep their personal information all in one place.
