Good quality but too heavy

This is a wonderful classy clay pot. It bakes incredibly delicious food on the stove, such as baked oatmeal, soup, stew, rice. Exceptional even, gentle heating yeilds delicious results. Clay pots require a couple of extra steps. Never heat without something in the pot, a little butter or oil or water to start. Raise temperature slowly, 3 minutes on low, 3 more at 1, 3 more at 2, etc. Never heat higher than 3 on a ten point stove. And that's hot enough to stir fry. Just let the pot heat up in its own natural time. It's slower cooking. When you cover to simmer always reduce heat to low. The merging of flavors is really fine!

Very cute pot! Got the larger one and it cooks 4-5 cups of rice. Can fit a whole chicken in the pot for some soup. Good for 2 people meals. The bottom scratches easily, so be careful. Also you have to clean it immediately after using, the ceramic can absorb smells.

I'm over protective of his pot because I like it so much. It does tend to scorch food quickly, particularly thick or starchy foods, but I am mindful and adjust my cooking technique to the pot. I would buy again.

Just received this pot last night. I intended to use this pot today for chicken soup. I finished blanching the chicken with the pot, washed it, and put it back on the stove to evaporate the excess water. As the water is evaporating, I heard a loud noise and I saw that the bottom cracked all the way to the two sides. Incredibly disappointing quality.
