I used this story to inspire my class to create a dragon dance as part of our Chinese New Year Topic. The story was engaging and the illustrations were lovely. It is a lovely quality book which was well received by the children and staff alike.

Lovely story, easy to follow and flaps are interesting. Nice for discussions around Chinese New year.

I bought the book to read to the 3 and 4 year old children in the Foundation unit. They enjoyed the colourful illustrations and particularly the lift over flaps which reavealed further pictures. It is a very short, colourful, easy read explaining the traditions of a Chinese Family in preparation for the New Year. Well worth the cost.

Bright illustrations. Nice introduction to this festival.
