Flawed but saved my lights, with a tweak
I thought for ages my light setup was a goner after my V3 lightstrips broke but with a few adaptors I managed to save most pieces, and these transformed my cut V3 ends into useable lights. With a caveat.Out of the box the connectors when closed did not press down enough and so some of the connections weren't making contact. Bending them wasn't enough to secure the connection so I improvised and now they work great. So here's my top tip.If yours aren't connecting very well, when you cut the plastic casing off the lightstrip, keep it. Then cut a small piece of it the size of the terminals inside the connector. It should fit snugly across and be about 2mm wide. Pop that inside the connector then close it shut (I used a small pair of pliers to click them in place as it is hard to do by hand with the extra piece of rubber/plastic in there). This made the connections all good and so now everything is working again. So they lose a star by not being quite firm enough to keep the connectors in contact, but I give 4 stars because they saved me buying a new 2m worth of extensions. They are pricey but if they work it is worth it.

Easy to install
Expensive for what they are but it saves throwing away the more expensive Hue strip so good value overall.

Avoid at all cost!
Poor quality. Phillip Hue Light Strip recommended this supplier for use when having to cut and connect. However, the product is hugely inferior to the Phillips Hue Light Strip. I have followed video instruction for cutting and connector this connector. Pliers are recommended to close the clasp, but it is of such shocking quality that it is nearly impossible to clip closed and when it does, the slightest of movement will pop it open. Then the connection is terrible, to work correctly, you need to hold closed with force; otherwise, power is not conducted through to all leads. I have also found that the pin connector is weak. The pins are a thinner design and therefore make a poor fit, the pin block does split to allow Phillips Hue Light Strip to connect, but it still leaves to tiny pins into connector making it a weak point.

Great idea let down by poor execution
To start I will concede that these are the only product that allows you to split a light strip and for that reason they deserve some credit. The mechanical design itself is good and as a prototype they almost work. I say almost. The plastic is too soft to create even pressure on the contacts with the result that only some or no LEDs light on the extension and they intermittently turn on and off. Holding and squeezing the connectors resolves things. Like others I had to cut bits of card and insert them under the light strip to pack them out and get an acceptable connection. To fix these they need to change the material or add some reinforcing as they just don't work properly out of the box - at 16 pounds for four that's not good enough.

Must for Hue light strip
Worth every penny as you can already get value out of your Hue light strips.

Basically a con, but you can persuade them to work...eventually!
Let's not mince words here. The whole litcessory range is a complete and total con. These connectors cost pennies to make and are being sold for a hundred fold mark up at least. Given this, it is outrageous that they perform so badly. The connections are incredibly sensitive. If they work, then you will find when you move then ever so slightly they stop working again. Start connecting more than a few strips together and it rapidly becomes a nightmare. I had to use little inserts I made myself to stabilise the pressure on the individual connections. It did, eventually, work. But it's not a simple job. Beware, also, blowing the transformer as the connections cut in and out. This all said, as far as I can see you don't have any choice but to use this range. I haven't found another. There needs to be some competition here.Apparently you can connect up to 10 metres of light strip to a single transformer. I haven't tried that, but 4 metres works fine for me.

Useful addition & money saver for hue lightstrip.
Good product, just what I needed to trim down hue lightstrip to run round the bottom rail of my stairs the main lightstrip is only available as 2 meter so to be able to shorten, ADDA connection & reuse the remainder was great & a money saver; hue isn't cheap to just cut & throw!Only down side bwith these is the compression connection needs to be better, you have to get it just right or it flickers & or, you get random weird colour differences down the extension pieces where on of the connections isn't making 100% just needs to be a bit more sturdy with a more positive crimp/lockdown. Other than this great little product.
