I got this along with a bunch of super-fine strainers when deciding I wanted a variety of finder meshes (than you find in a standard colendar or strainer) for things like straining out coffee, stews/soups, etc. This isn't nearly as fine as the super-fine strainers you can find elsewhere, so I wouldn't use it for something that requires that like straining the bubbling fat out of a stock. But a well-stocked kitchen should have a variety of strainers of different degrees of fine-ness! Finer meshes (that is, smaller apertures) will tend to filter out ever smaller particles and even thicker liquids to a degree, but they'll also clog more easily and if you're filtering when filling a container, are more likely to fill up and cause a spill. This particular strainer has a finer mesh than the typical one, so it can work well to filter out things like spices or even hot chocolate (with rough cocoa bits), even if there are jobs it's not well suited to--and this particular one is very well made and has a nice bowl shape that can give you some clearance.

This is a very nice strainer that filters as effective as Cheesecloth. I was using it to strain my sauces and in making Goji Berry juice by straining the seeds out. It works very well, but I was very disappointed that the handle broke off the strainer after only a Month and a Half's use. It must be a defect, because other than the handle it works really well as a fine strainer. Being it's past Amazon's 30 day return period, It still covered by this company's Life Time Warranty and I hope to hear from concerning replacing this strainer. I am upgrading this review to 5 Stars as today, I received a brand new Strainer from this company as they really do offer a lifetime warranty. Outstanding response.

This strainer has a fine mesh assembly attached to a curved rim. Unlike most strainers, this one has a hook approximately 1.5 inches in length from the rim to the longest portion of the hook. This longer hook allows the strainer to fit inside more various sized saucepans and bowls to allow for more hands-free straining. The strainer itself measures 5.25 inches in diameter at the widest portion of the top of the strainer. The depth of the strainer measures approximately 2.25 inches in length at the deepest portion of the strainer. I’m sure, it has a capacity to strain foods in excess of 2 cups safely without difficulty. The straining function is very well. It quickly strains virtually all unwanted liquid from the food. I’ve never been a strainer shaker due to potential kitchen disasters that generally occur with hand-held strainers. I highly recommend this strainer for effective, fast and hands-free straining.

This replaced an older rusty strainer and did fit in my drawer. I like the strength of the design, but It came in flimsy packaging and was dented in the middle of the strainer. I hope it stays popped out in time.

This medium size strainer is extremely well made, the mesh is very fine exactly as described. It is constructed of durable stainless steel and carries a lifetime warranty, probably unnecessary since this strainer will last a lifetime. The company offers three sizes, this one is medium. They sell a combo of all three sizes at a reduced fee, and I am so impressed with the quality of this item that, while composing this, I just ordered their combo package of all three sizes. You cannot go wrong with this product!

This is a great strainer for a quick rinse of blueberries or strawberries in the morning for my cereal. Of course there are other uses as well. Mesh strainers work better IMHO. This is no different. The food items are strained with little liquid left on the items. The strainer is well made no gaps around the rim. Looks like it will last a very long time. A good purchase.

I had purchased the 9" strainer from LiveFresh four years ago and it's still in great shape. This one has the same construction: easy to use, easy to clean, and very well built. I'd buy it again, but it will probably outlast me!

I love to eat some TRAIL MIX from my local square box store because it’s in the large size bag. After a few months of eating the mix my normal Dr. Visit came up. Dr. said your BP is going up and he said to cut down on the sodium intake. I said okay. So I looked at what I was eating the most of. The trail mix was it but I LOVE this mix brand in the large bag. I started to look for ways to get rid of a lot of the salt. I went to a bakery for some bread and looked up and saw the baker sifting flour. I had an idea of sifting my trail mix with a small basket with fin little holes. So I decided to purchase a small basket with little holes and it worked GRATE. A two months later Dr. visit came back and Dr.said wonderful things are coming along nicely don’t know what you’re doing but keep it up. The TRAIL MIX IS GREAT now I add more raisins to my mix. Thanks to the sifting I removed 85% of the salt can Not get rid of the rest but it works.
