Convenient and Easy to Keep in Rotation
I use these Amazon Basics rechargeable AA batteries with a compatible charger, and they have worked very well for my needs. The biggest advantage is convenience. I can keep a charged set ready, swap them into a device when needed, and place the depleted batteries back on the charger. They may not always last as long per charge as some conventional disposable batteries, but I no longer need to constantly keep new AA batteries on hand. That makes them especially useful for frequently used household devices. Rechargeable Batteries!
These rechargeable AA batteries exceeded my expectations. They hold a charge for a long time, come pre-charged, and work great in my remote controls, toys, and other household devices. Being rechargeable up to 1,000 times makes them an excellent value. Highly recommended!

Solid product except for ONE **TINY** detail that frustrates me.
Starting with the positives, they charge well and they last decently long. THey dont get hot when charging and they generally get the job done, but there is one detail that drives me crazy. These batteries are about a milimeter thicker than your standard duracell. Shouldnt be an issue. And generally id agree if youre thinking that, dear reader. But heed this warning, their slight size increase makes them dificult to fit into many fairy light battery casings, meaning its harder to get them out and may even damage the casing, 1 milimeter, not a problem, but 3, that adds up. Overall, product is fine, just not a fan of the size being slightly larger.

These perform as claimed, and here's data that shows it.
Lots of reviews here, but few if any with data. Here’s the summary of my data: 12 new batteries were tested and all met their claims. Out of the box charge was a low of 1730 mAh to a high of 1820 mAh. Refreshed capacity was from 2050 mAh to 2130 mAh. Percent capacity after 28 days ranged from 88% to 91%. Refreshed capacity after 28 days was from 2030 mAh to 2140 mAh. I do not have the time to measure the claimed 80% capacity after 2 years, or the claim that the batteries can be recharged 1000 times. The self-discharge rate of these batteries is as low as any brand I have tested or have seen tested. I think these are fine batteries and a good value, especially when on sale. Sometimes these can be found for close to $1 per battery. Yes, I will buy them again when I need more rechargeable batteries. Details of test: I bought 12 batteries on 21 November, 2023. I tested 4 at a time in a LaCrosse BC-900 battery charger using the “Refresh” mode. Discharge rate = 500 mA, charge rate = 1000 mA. The batteries were discharged until the voltage dropped to 0.90 V. Both batteries and charger were fan cooled during the tests. Battery temp when being discharged was 22° C. Battery temp when being charged was 30° C. Batteries were stored for 28 days in a 20° C room, and then retested. Comments: The charge and discharge rates (1000 mA & 500 mA) are reasonable for these batteries. The charge rate is about ½ C, which is half the charge rate usually specified for the number of charge-discharge cycles (in this case, 1000). The discharge rate is middle of the road for the devices these batteries are often used in. Most devices with motors will discharge at a higher rate, most small purely electronic devices will use less than 500 mA. Low Self-Discharge (LSD) batteries loose most of their charge in the first week; going from 100% to less than 94%. After one week, the self-discharge drops off markedly. If stored in a refrigerator at 5° or less, the self-discharge should be a little less. However, do not freeze the batteries. And, as you may have guessed, I am an engineer. UPDATE on 19 November, 2024 I ordered 24 more of these batteries, and after charge cycling them 3 or 4 times, I tested them. All batteries exceeded their 2000 mAhr rated capacity, with a range of 2050 mAhr to 2200 mAhr. These are good batteries at a good price.

Impressive cell at a very fair price
Initial Impressions: The batteries arrived nicely packaged in a cardboard box, with six, individually wrapped packages of four cells each. My testing process for new cells is pretty extensive and these Amazon Basic’s pre-charged cells, at least on the initial round of testing prove to be of very good quality. All 24 cells were weighed for consistency. All of the cells measured in at 27 grams, plus or minus 0.03 grams indicating that the manufacturing quality for the active material is highly consistent. The 24 cells then were put through an initial capacity discharge test utilizing an ISDT 24 channel charger. 20 of the 24 cells showed an initial capacity ranging from 1890 to 1920 mAH, and four cells showed an initial capacity of between 1310 and 1400 mAH. The cells are rated by Amazon as 2000 mAH cells, so the 20 cells came pre-charged at 95% full. I assume that the four outliers were not charged fully at the factory. All 24 cells were once again placed in the ISDT charger, this time, set for activation charge, where the cells are charged and discharged three times in succession to distribute the electrolyte equally within the cell, and fully charge the cell to its maximum capacity. All 24 cells charged to beyond the Amazon rated capacity with the average capacity at 2130 mAH. The fourth round of testing involved a torture test utilizing a West Mountain Radio Computerized Battery Analyzer. Each battery underwent a mission profile test, at constant current, until the output voltage dropped to cutoff. Again, each battery, under constant load, exhibited a measured capacity of between 1920 and 1975 mAH. The fifth round of testing was a random selection of four cells to be put back on the CBA and a discharge test ran, again at constant current, plotting the results of all four cells on the same graph. All four cells had a discharge profile that is extremely consistent, and flat across the entire time until the cell was exhausted. The sixth round involves a self-discharge test, again four random cells were selected and were measured for their open-circuit voltage. After 48 hours, these same cells were measured again, and their open-circuit voltage compared. The self-discharge was again, very consistent, and was on average 0.03V from the initial measurement. While 48 hours is a very short period to test for self-discharge over time, it’s encouraging to see that there was little in the way of voltage loss. I set two random cells aside, that will be measured at 30, 60, 90, and 180 days to see if this low discharge is maintained over an extended period of time. At this point, after the testing performed, I would rate these cells as excellent quality, and an excellent price point. Most of my cells are Eneloop, and I was curious to see how the Amazon cells would perform compared to the Eneloop and the Ikea Ladda cells, which are the same. I’ve been using rechargeable cells since the NiCd days, as there is something inherently wrong with the idea of buying something only to toss it in the trash a few days or weeks later. Add to that all Alkaline batteries will eventually leak and destroy what they are installed in, I am happy to see that there is a lower cost, quality cell available. Only time will tell if they are truly an equal to the Eneloop brand of battery, most of mine are still going strong after almost 15 years of pretty demanding service.

Worst batteries ever! Won't take or hold a charge
I will fully charge these batteries, take them directly off of the charger and it says they are fully charged put them in something and they will be dead! These are the worst batteries I have ever bought complete waste of money no giving a review

Ehhh, I guess it's better than constantly throwing batteries away
But... I've thrown a handful of these away out of the 48 I've purchased. Probably five or six, and those five or six probably had been charged an average of about five times. Seems like a high rate of failure to me. I tried to take the plunge and switch over entirely, but these also do not hold a charge anywhere near as long as conventional batteries. Certain things, like my door lock, I simply don't want to be changing batteries all the time. Also, there are certain items these won't work in at all. The batteries are the same exact overall length of conventionals, but the "nub" at the positive end is not as long. This creates fitment issues in some items. That said, these are more than economical enough to justify switching to rechargeables, even with the caveats listed above. I'm sure, like anything else, the faster people adapt, the better the product becomes. I'll hold out hope that this will be true and keep replenishing.

Zuverlässige Akkus mit langer Laufzeit
Ich bin mit dem Amazon Basics 8er-Pack wiederaufladbarer Akkus sehr zufrieden. Die Akkus sind direkt einsatzbereit, halten ihre Ladung lange und liefern eine konstante Leistung. Ich nutze sie unter anderem in Fernbedienungen, Spielzeug und kabellosen Geräten, wo sie zuverlässig funktionieren. Besonders praktisch ist, dass sie viele Male wiederaufgeladen werden können. Das spart auf Dauer Geld und reduziert gleichzeitig den Batteriemüll. Auch nach mehreren Ladezyklen konnte ich bisher keinen spürbaren Leistungsverlust feststellen. Fazit: Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt absolut. Wer zuverlässige, langlebige und wiederaufladbare Akkus sucht, macht mit den Amazon Basics Akkus nichts falsch. Klare Kaufempfehlung!
