Love this bone! (My dog, not me personally)
My dog LOVES this ring!!!! He's a 60 lb lab mix, and can go through a rawhide pretty fast, but the ring was confusing to him at first since he didn't know where to start it. The first one lasted about 6 weeks or better before he ate it all up. The second one was a little less time, as he'd figured out that if he just chews the connecting piece off he can work his way around the ring. Regardless of technique, the bone still lasted several weeks and he carries it from room to room with him. And sleeps with it. And cuddles it. Full disclosure, my dog loves rawhide, isn't a huge fan of nylabones, and was raised as a puppy on Kongs. He's never been a destructive guy, but he likes his chew toys. He's kind of slow to completely go through a rawhide, so I can't say if your super heavy chewer will eat this in a matter of minutes or not, but I do recommend this thing to anyone with a dog of any size. My parent's Havanese (9 lbs.) loves this bone too even though it would probably take her a year to eat the whole thing. She'll come over and steal it from my big boy and haul it up on the sofa to enjoy. I've also bought these for a coworkers two 90+lb. German Shepherds, and they last for them as well. I think she only gives them to her girls for about 20 minutes a day, as they are big chewers and could get through a rawhide in a matter of hours. I've bought the regular and beef flavored ones. The dog doesn't seem to care either way, but the beef flavored ones smelled like blue cheese that had been sitting on the counter for a month. Since the dog sleeps in my bed, the last thing I want is a rotten cheese aroma permeating my dreams...go for the unflavored. Unless you are a fan of blue cheese. Excuse the blurry action shots, but he gets pretty excited with this thing!

If you just roll your eyes at products marketed for "Agressive Chewers", it's really true in this case.
I've owned 3 bull terriers over the years, so I know something about chew toys for "Large dogs" and "Aggressive Chewers". These are the longest lasting natural material chew toys I've found, and they have a very consistent quality. For perspective, large Nyla-Bones last a few weeks in my experience, but only one of mine ever liked them. The others would rather go chew the deck apart for fun instead. Anything made of compressed rawhide is completely gone in a few minutes. I once bought a compressed rawhide toy for "Aggressive Chewers" that was literally consumed before I left the parking lot. I had high hopes for bully sticks, until I watched as this expensive and supposedly indestructible chew was eaten to a dangerously short nub in less than 10 minutes. Occasionally I'd find a brand that had good quality, long lasting rawhide, but the quality would be inconsistent from one purchase to the next. I don't even want to think about how much time I've spent in the dog toy aisle trying to judge the density and texture of rawhide knots. These things last almost 2 weeks, which near miraculous in my experience. I've ordered nearly 20 of these and each one has been just as good as the first. Along with the good quality rawhide, I think the way they are constructed keeps them from being disassembled into dangerously small pieces very quickly. My dogs go nuts when I pull one out of an Amazon box, and they know when an unopened box contains one. I've never seen one of mine get that excited over a Kong.

Doberman chewed it up in 4-5 days
We got this for our large doberman. He likes to chew big bones, but we were concerned with him getting shards caught in his throat or belly. We are not yet ready to buy him uncooked bones (hassle, can't really leave them laying around, still risk of choking), so rawhide seemed like the best option. For normal rawhide bones that are not thick and huge, he chews them up in a matter of minutes. He has been chewing on this for three days and has almost destroyed it all. But for the big chewer he is, it seems like a reasonable time and we were happy it lasted this long. It makes him happy and even though I would rather not spend about $12/week for things for him to chew on, it seems better than things made of plastic, or cooked bones. I think for a dog that is not a very serious chewer, this would last longer. If anyone has any suggestions of better options, we would like to hear them, but have not found any options that seem safe and not a hassle since we need to be able to leave this out for him to chew here and there (which isn't possible with a huge raw bone). For those with wooden floors, this also worked well because it won't make dents in the floor when he drops it unlike a huge bone would (and has).

Once worthy product ruined by quality control or greed.
A once great product ruined by lack of quality control or to make more money. These very expensive chews were once worth every penny as they were made of very thick heavy rawhide. I purchased many of these as they were the only thing that slowed down my Golden. I recently complained to Amazon that one out of many I purchased was so thin and brittle that the dog was breaking it into tiny pieces, not chewing it. His gums were bleeding in no time and the carpet full of tiny sharp broken pieces of the chew. The quality has gone from great to horrible and not worthy of the high cost any longer. So in comes Amazon's replacement and it too was about 1/4 to 1/3 the weight of previous Chews and so thin that you can see light through multiple twists and layers of their new product. I had this as a subscription item but no longer. My Golden would spend days on each one, but now after seeing him bleed and finding nothing but very thin sharp edges and fragments everywhere, its the end of the road for these Chews.

Not quite as long-lasting as reviews suggested...
Bought this product due to reviews that said it lasted their large, heavy chewing dogs for several sessions. We have an average sized lab (about 55 pounds) that does like his raw hide bones. This braided ring lasted him about 5 hours- no longer than a large rawhide bone. If your dog is a slow chewer this may be a worthy investment but do not expect it to last longer than other similarly priced rawhides if your dog can really put in some work on these things. Also gave my dog some pretty awful gas/stools, worse than the average day. Bought two, have yet to even use the second.
