This DreamSky is the best compact radio I have ever used!
I use compact transistor radios constantly, for news, to follow sports, sports talk, & talk radio. I use them around the house and in the yard. I have used so many different brands of radios, and while I do like one or two of the brands, there is always something about them that bothered me. Either the volume wasn't high enough, or the sound had too much static, or worst of all, the stations drifted. It is so annoying when you are listening to the radio, tuned into a station, and somehow the tuner just drifts by itself, and then suddenly you are hearing another station coming in; then you have to re-adjust the tuner by hand. So I have a lot of experience with many different brands of compact radios. This DreamSky is the absolute best compact radio - great volume, very clear, the tuner does not drift, takes 2 AA batteries that last a long time. One thing I noticed right away is that it picks up radio stations hundreds of miles away from where I live, which I can't say ever happens with other radio brands. I have an old classic car (1973) as an extra vehicle, and the car radio went bad. I tried several places to have it fixed, or replaced, but I was told that they didn't sell a car radio that would fit the dashboard and connections properly. I was advised to use a portable radio in the car. Well, I tried every brand of radio that I ever used, including buying larger portable radios with handles which I thought would have better reception in a moving vehicle. Wrong! None of them worked well in the car, when driving around. They were erratic at best, with lots of static, poor sound quality, and constant dropping of the stations. It was frustrating and I thought I was destined to never have access to a radio in this car again. Then I read about the DreamSky radio, and decided to try it. It worked so great in the car that I couldn't believe it! Clear, crisp, loud sound, no static, no station drifting, rarely lost service - it was just fantastic! It is just amazing how incredible this little radio is! Although using a compact radio in the car while you are driving is not as convenient as having a dashboard radio, at least I can listen to music or the news if I want to! I hope the manufacturer never stops making the DreamSky radio. I'm buying my second one, and I will buy several more just to replace the others I have around the house. If there is one recommendation I would have is for the manufacturer to offer a lightweight case for the radio to protect it, since the radio is so light, sometimes I am afraid I will break it. Just try this radio, you'll love it!

Best Value -- Get These Before They're Gone
I had read many reviews on this particular radio before deciding to purchase it, and I was not disappointed -- this is an excellent value and a very serviceable, great sounding receiver. The radio has a sliding scale tuning indicator much like an analog receiver, but actually has a digital processing chip in the tuning section (you can hear the frequency steps while tuning if you listen closely). It holds a station very well without drifting on FM, and is a very capable AM DX receiver for those who might be looking for that feature.Sensitivity is far above average at this price point -- I'm getting solid signal levels from stations that would ordinarily be on the fringe of reception for some of my other radios on both AM and FM. Nighttime AM reception is particularly good, nearly on par with more expensive receivers such as the CCrane Skywave and the Tecsun 9700DX.Sound quality is well above average, in both volume output and frequency range. This radio is capable of filling a room with good sound (its speaker is quite a bit larger than most, due to the larger size case). There is plenty of presence and detail on voices, and there's a surprising fullness in the lower frequencies on music. If you're looking for an easy to use radio that has the added bonus of sounding great and being sensitive enough to pick up those hard-to-hear stations in your area, this is it. This may turn out to be one of those radios that catches on with buyers and then disappears from the market unexpectedly, so I'd grab one now before they're gone. And, if you like how it performs, grab another as a spare or as a gift for someone!

Great sound on both bands, only issue is dial accuracy and weak station selectivity.
Great throaty bass sound on both bands, my only issue is that the dial is off a bit and it's takes a lot of effort to tune in weaker than clear channel stations on AM.It does well for a DSP radio, I've never heard or felt a pocket radio with this level of bass that you can feel pulsating in your hand.I'm not that bothered by the dial accuracy, but I do have some issue with the level of difficulty it takes to tune in a weak AM station during the day, at night it's hard to find a DSP radio that does well and because it's so hard to find a decent DSP radio that has managed to work out all the limitations given the approximate 14 year history of DSP radio manufacturing. My guess is that if they could match the sound of this DreamSky with the selectivity of a Jameson, they'd have the perfect pocket DSP radio. So, yes the Jameson doesn't have the booming sound of this DreamSky, but it does have the selectivity necessary to pick up weak AM signals, even at night. So, if you mainly listen to clear channel stations, then this is perhaps the ideal 2 AA DSP radio for you, otherwise if you like to lock on to weaker stations that typically have less corporately-correct anger-centric formats, then you may be better suited buying the Jameson model, granted I think the Jameson isn't currently available on Amazon, but it's available elsewhere.I will admit, the build quality of this DreamSky is better than the Jameson models, but I prefer better selectivity, even at the cost of build quality or picture-perfect sound.
