Its OK with adjustments --- without adjustments -->Bait is Gone, and no mouse caught
We have set these a number of times, and the bait was eaten, but the trap was not tripped. Really frustrating.Updated 9/16/2015 -- made adjustments and caught a mouse the 1st night:I did some searching on the internet and found a suggestion to change the balance point of the trap so that it would trip more easily. I taped a penny on the underside of the bait end of the tipping part of the trap, about an inch back from the bait. I had to adjust where the penny was so that the trap did not close on it's own. Now the trap is much more sensitive to close when a mouse enters, and it worked!I moved my rating to 3 stars because I was able to get it to work.

both sides of this trap can easily be opened
This trap didnt work in the slightest, the mice went in and out, stole all bait and left, It never looked very realistic to me as a concept, but mice proved it... both sides of this trap can easily be opened, I event went as far as to hot clue the exit hatch shut, and they just leave through the front one. Its useless... avoid this product....

Works ok. My mice can go in and walk ...
Works ok. My mice can go in and walk right back out of it. If it does close then they just bounce it back open.

Everyone wins with these.
This is the only mousetrap that would work for the mice in my apartment. It was a nice dark place to go, it's very sensitive, and that weird wedge bit on the back is so the mice can't climb on top of it to accidentally set off the trap. The downside for me is that I couldn't tell if there was a mouse or not until I drove five miles away to open it in a national park (in order to to appease my soppy humane side and also to probably feed the local red-tailed hawks). The traps worked especially well when lined up in bunches so the mice would have several to choose. Check them frequently. I think one mouse was trapped in there for 12 hours and he came out all wet and PTSD-addled, though maybe that's how he started out, too. Mice don't exactly seem like the poster children for anxiety control on the day to day basis anyway. There don't seem to be any mice here anymore, but we'll see what happens when the next bunch of undergrads move in. FYI, before getting these, I tried the victor tin cat and the mouse cube. The tin cat did trap two of them, so it wasn't a total failure.

... in a high traffic area because then it can easily close and won't catch anything
Careful if the trap is in a high traffic area because then it can easily close and won't catch anything. But a really good trap.

Not great
It did catch one mouse but at other times the mice have gone in and ate the peanut butter without getting trapped. We will keep putting it out hoping the mice will gain enough weight to tip it.
