Ion Audio Party Starter Wireless Speaker with Synchronized Party Lights, Black

This was my first Bluetooth speaker. I was never sold on the idea of portable speakers because of their poor battery life, their distorted sound, and the price tag. Plus it was just something else just to lug around. I bought this as a gold box deal a little over a month ago and I can say the the battery life is astoundingly long lasting. I have gotten a max of 5 hours out of it with the lights on. Without lights close to six. The lights are interesting but bright. Make sure you don't place on a table and get into everyone's eyes, set it just out of the way to keep from everyone getting irritated, or just turn it off. The patterns they create are to the music only they are best played to electronic or some danceable music, forget country and rap it begins pulsing uncontrollable while trying to keep up. The sound is great, making it too loud makes it jump around or create a distorted bass. Dropped it once and still works fine. Overall, what really sets this device apart is it's lights and portability. The price tag for mine was cheaper with the deal but I would still pay for it full price if I had to. It is a novelty item great for kids and adults alike. Will probably be buying a couple of these for Christmas gifts.

Got this as a gift for my 15 yr old niece as a Christmas gift. It arrived ahead of time and worked. The lights easily fill a room and even go to the tempo of the songs. The sound quality is satisfactory. You can clearly hear the music and there's no static or buzzing from overkill of the bass like other low quality speakers. You really can have a party with this thing. Overall, my niece LOVES it and was ecstatic when she tried it out.

It had a wonderful sound and is very good with the lights going with the music but I found that when you had it a maximum sound it would vibrate so much that it would move and it moved so much that it fell off my dresser twice and now the sound doesn't work. The light would still work and would go to the beat of the music but no sound which was very disappointing because overall it was very nice and entertaining!

So impressed. I didn't think I'd be this excited about the product I was skeptical to say the least. The light show is wonderful. It's very vibribrant even an a pretty big space the lights aren't faded and could easily be used for a house party if it's placed somewhere high enough. It only has one setting and that's a sound response light show. Speaking of carefully place, it has that type of grip the sticks to smooth surfaces but isn't sticky and it works very well. As for the sound the most important part of a portable speaker it very loud. This was the biggest thing I was weary about with this product. This price is ridiculous for the quality your getting with this product. As far as clarity it's not as amazingly crisp as some of the more pricey brands but I would easily pay 40 bucks for this product . Based on the sound clarity and volume as well as the awesome light show. This is easily My BEST BUY OF THE YEAR. And most definitely on my Christmas gifts list.

UPDATE: The quality of sound detoriarated within few days, Bluetooth started dropping connection (stattering and such) - returning the product - but I did get a "Party On" model locally, and that works better so far - maybe this unit was just faulty? I'll never know.... The quality of the speaker is not... well... great, It's a bit "flat" - especially on high and low, it's "all in the middle". The light seems to work with music, when the music has some volume to it. It almost looks like the volume on the speaker has to be up for the light to pickup the rhythm. The device plays via bluetooth as well as a direct cable connection to a music source (headphone jack). Overall a nice toy that works as a speaker just for dun - if you are hoping to use it to listen to music, do not bother; but a cool little toy for kids and iPads - not bad. Se evaluate why you want it, but it's a fun thing to setup for kids to blink and play music as they are falling asleep, or a little kids' music event in a small area - like during a sleepover.

Pretty cool device. I was very impressed with the brightness and how well the device synchronized with the music. Sound quality is fair given that it comes with the LED tech. Real easy to sync with the Iphone. I got what I expected. Unfortunately, it did not last. Right from the start the sound started cutting out when the light show was activated. Not sure if it is a bluetooth problem or what. I've contacted the Amazon seller to see about return or warranty, action pending.

The party has started!! Lights didn't work on the first one but the replacement has been fine. Actually, better than fine. This little speaker is going to give us hours of entertainment!! My teenaged son is becoming a walking noise violation thanks to this blue tooth speaker. Hilarious to watch him blast his music and bop around the room. I'm impressed with the volume & bass it can handle without the usual distortion. I think I need to make this my go to gift for any kids that like music!! The lights flicker in time to the music and are quite mesmerizing. He's tried everything from pop to EDM to celtic rock. It just keeps going.

At the price I bought this, I really didn't think it would be very impressive. I purchased for my granddaughter. I wish I had bought one for myself. It is very clear even at the loudest point, with Bab's, Adele, Pearl Jam. My books play great on it. It is just a great little electronic device that can follow you anywhere, loud enough to get my granddaughter in trouble I think!. It arrived on time very nicely packaged, protected. I could not read the directions but it was easily paired with Ipad 4. I highly recommend. *It requires USB for charging I thought it wasn't with it but it is located on the opposite end of the tube it arrived in. I hope that made sense. If you have a converter it would probably be helpful. Most people do nowdays.
