Chinese snuff bottles

This was one of the earliest book that I had read on Chinese snuff bottles. I had picked it up from a local library and this happened to be one of the few books which I have read completely.:) Immediately, I decided to buy a used copy of this book for myself from Amazon or Half.com (I don't remember..) and I had this book in my possession very soon.Lilla has rightly described her various purusits for quality snuff bottles as an adventure. The book is a highly informative work on chinese Snuff bottles sprinkled with Lilla's great antecedotes about how she acquired some of her beautiful bottles. Her keen sense of decision making about snuff bottles can be learnt by onself by reading about her analysis and judgement, that she employs when acquiring a bottle. She has explained in detail, about various kinds of snuff bottle - jade, agate, bamboo, hornbill, inside painted etc.Overall, I would say, even if you aren't into collecting snuff bottles, this book surely will leave a lingering good feeling and impression about Lilla in your minds, that you would wish you knew her personally. :) And, you might also end up becoming the next snuff bottle collector!

Well written and provides a good introduction to aspiring collectors of Chinese snuff bottles. An enjoyable read.
