My daughter in law had this on the grandson's Christmas list and I initially balked at the price. But once it arrived the value was clear. It's a beautiful product with lots of latches to work motor skills and bright natural colors and great finishes.

My LO is picky about the toys she will play alone with and this is one of her favorites! She loves to unlock the locks(she can do 4 currently) and pull out the animal figurines and keep repeating their names and playing with them. I sometimes put random toys in the barn and she loves to find these toys and gets so happy. She can spend a long time playing with it alone. My spouse was concerned that she might pick it up and get hurt but i guess it’s heavy as she hasn’t attempted to pick it yet. The animal figurines are sturdy and stand easily.. they are big enough to not be a choking hazard at any age but not suitable if your kid is teething.

I have to say, this might be the most successful gift I've bought my first grandchild in his first 18 months. I tend to get things that might be a little too old for him or that aren't as good for long-term, repeat play. This one is different. At his age, he'd begun to try to open every latch and door in the house, so this seemed to be a perfect toy - lots of doors with latches! The fact that they are on a very cute, brightly painted barn and come with little animals, welll, that's just the icing on the cake. Great for the price, too.

I bought this barn and animals because my kid loves playing with it at speech. He’s autistic and loves the soft flocked animals. My only complaint is that it only comes with 4. I searched high and low for more flocked animals and finally found more at a random hardware store in Ohio with a website.

Edit: great customer service from Melissa and Doug! Replacement pig was sent!Great toy but we're very disappointed as we open the gift and one animal is missing. Kid is looking everywhere for the pig... 😩
