(Music Sales America). These 142 pieces by the masters of piano literature date from the second half of the 17th century to the present day. Review: A nice variety of short, easy pieces... - I use thi sbook with my piano students for supplemental lesson pieces. Most of the pieces are short and range from late beginner to early intermediate level (Grade 1 to early Grade 3) and are great for sightreading exercises, recital selections, and extra learning material. The book covers a large range of classical styles so a student can find his or her favorites. For slightly more advanced students, I assign these pieces to give the students something easy and fun to learn quickly amid more difficult lesson material. My only issue is that it would be helpful to have short notes describing the composer or era. Also, I would like to see opus numbers where applicable as a reference. Otherwise, this a great resource of easy pieces in their original form. I also like that lesser known composers and pieces are also included. Review: Buy this book - Great intermediate level book to introduce students to classical composers. It has a variety of songs and I feel they are the right length to hold the student's interest but still being challenging enough to continue learning. Your student won't get bored with the songs and lose interest because they feel overwhelmed The song selection has songs that are fun to play and rewarding to learn. A great answer when someone asks 'what can you play'

For level 4a
If our fabulous piano teacher recommends it, it’s good. My daughter just graduated from level 3B in the Faber books and he said she’s ready for this if that helps guide you in levels.

Classic book
Love this book. I used it during lessons as a child but lost track of it after not playing the piano for some time. Was so happy to see it was still available. It was like riding a bike after years of not doing it. Shaky at first but the motor memory came back.

Good compilation for a late beginner. CON: does not stay open flat
I like the compilation of pieces in this book, organized by era. Lots of great composers featured here, including some wonderful, accessible and yet musically wonderful pieces by Bach, Tchaikovsky, Clementi etc. I personally really appreciate having simple pieces by the great masters available in their original form, rather than arrangements of more popular works. Fingering is good on the whole. Now one big issue with these books is they will not stay open on the stand. I get around that by making do with a clip-on clothes-hanger, not an ideal solution but one that enables me to use the book without pages falling out due to incessant creasing.

Good Material for Beginner and Experienced Player Alike
A very useful collection of pieces that stand alone from a musical point of view, but are also good for early technical development and for the not too demanding purpose of analysis of form, melodic construction, harmonic schemes, and counterpoint where it might apply. Also, it’s proven to be a valuable resource as sight-reading material for the more advanced player, and likely useful this way for musicians who play styles outside of the classics. Recommended

Had volume 27 years ago when I last took lessons and enjoyed it. When I took playing back up I rebought volume 27 and love it so much that I purchased this volume as well. They are both wonderful to play. The songs are not rearranged to be easier; they are original to how they were written but are easier pieces. For reference, I took lessons on and off for maybe a total of 3 years, between 20 and 10 years ago. These pieces are easy enough for me to master after putting in ample practice but not easy enough to plop right down and play. Just the right amount of challenging!

Great selection of pieces
My teacher recommended this once I was done with the RCM grade 1 book. Its been a great way to get exposed to a variety of baroque, classical and romantic period music. There's enough in here to keep me challenged and interested for quite a while. I think it's mostly at an RCM grade 3-4 level with some easier and some harder stuff, and it has many of the famous beginner pieces.

genau das Richtige für Anfänger
Ich habe das Heft für einen Anfänger besorgt. Die Stücke sind einfach und ansprechend gesetzt, manche erfordern einiges an Technik, dennoch serh empfehlenswert.
