Question 1

Can this product be used to get rust off of the body of a car?

Accepted Answer

Yes but ... it really depends on the thickness of the rust for one and I don't know if any paint or surface finish would stick to it when you're done. I did use it on some sixty year old, chrome plated rims off of a MotoLegara, Moto Guzzi as a final shot before I bought some new rims. It worked, took the rust down to the pitting on the metal and seemed to seal the finish with a wax coating. This little bike is more a less a parade / special even bike and no longer a daily rider. I really don't know about body surface rust however ...

Question 2

Will it clean brake rotors?

Accepted Answer

Brake rotors on what? If it's a car or truck then just go apply the brakes hard a few times or until the oxidation clears up. If it's really severe then you may have to replace the pads. If it's really, really corroded you may have to replace the rotors. If the rotors are on a bike or motorcycle and you're trying to make them look pretty - it will probably work. But remember, while Quick-Glo is a mild polish, it is also going to leave a protective (waxy) finish on the metal and this will wear off with the friction generated by braking. That's all I,ve got. I hope it helped.Long time Quick-Glo user (since the '60s). - Gordon

Question 3

is it safe to use on the kitchen sink, what if after use, water splashes onto its, will it come off faucet and some of it gets in food?

Accepted Answer

It is a wax paste that you will apply, buff and rinse off then wipe off well with a dry towel, this will move the residual product. If you are asking if it is food grade, it is not. A food safe method: mix of 2 parts vinegar and 1 part water to remove the water spots/stains on your sink and faucet.

Question 4

Will this product be effective in removing a small surface amount of rust on brake calipers (not rotors)?

Accepted Answer

On the outside of the calipers, it worked amazingly well on my motorcycle. I worked around the edges of the calipers with a popsicle-stick inside of an old sock, and it worked wonders to restore the original shine and finish. Treats surface rust like dirt (almost) and just comes off on to the cloth, away from the metal. Quick-Glo is magic as far as I can tell...
