Mcalpine Anti-Return Lid, Black

We don't have a rodent problem but did have an occasional smell issue coming up from the main drain in our back garden so thought I'd give this a try. 2 minutes to fit and several months on it has solved the issue completely. Can't vouch for its effectiveness against rats but it's certainly solved our smelly problem.

Now I have yet to fit this…. But a few things not mentioned in the advert. Yes the flap is plastic…..but it is actually infused with metal mesh! Not the grade that rats cannot deal with but certainly enough to slow them down. The rubber seal is actually a very soft rubber, almost silicone in texture so very easy to fit but as some have mentioned, maybe a bit loose too. The spring on the flap is actually quite strong…to the point that I am a little concerned….but certainly not weak at all. I’m not sure how much force a turd on its way down a sewer produces, but I think there is a limit on the force you would want the spring to have. I will advise once more once installed but initial signs are good. It is a shame it is as expensive as it is - it’s really not necessary and I have a £39 proper metal unit on order….but this will do for now Update. Just installed…..took 3minutes and installed on a curved entrance. Just had a poop come through and all clear working well :)

Wasn’t sure if this would be worth spending money on, but after a long time with stinky drainage and exhausting every other avenue to get rid of the smells and rat droppings we were desperate. Wish we had got this ages ago. No more smells! No more rat droppings!

Bought this as i now live near open fields and a downstairs loo, don't know if i needed it but certainly makes me feel better that no unwanted vermin will be making a surprise visit!

Installed to stop a drain from flowing back. Maybe it stops mice, foxes, dinosaurs and rodents. Certainly it does not stop liquids. Minus five stars

Easy to install and good price

Would not recommend. Poor design, caused a back log after a few days of installing.

Schnelle Lieferung, einfacher Einbau - Haltbarkeit ist auf Grund der Einbausituation schwer zu beurteilen - hoffentlich recht lange!
