Quality product at a good price does what I need it to do

I had an old Victor regulator finally blow an O-ring between the high and low side, and I could have rebuilt it, but I found this regulator for about $10 bucks more than the rebuild kit, and I don't need fancy features like tank pressure drop compensation, so it was kind of a no brainer to replace it. So far it's worked perfectly fine.

Works well

My old cheaper acetylene regulator finally gave up the ghost, so I invested in a Victor regulator, which has the reputation of quality.

This regulator leaks. after installing, i opened the tank and i could hear the gas escaping and i could smell the gas. i only opened the tank 3/4 of a turn since this is acetylene. when i closed the tank valve the tank pressure needle slowly drops to zero. i sprayed soapy water on all the connections to locate the leak, but no leaks found. the leak appears to be coming from the regulator itself. i conducted this testing with the adjustment screw of the regulator both in a closed position, as well as in the opened position. same results. i will be sending this unit back, and then order a replacement.

New regulator uses rotating dial type handle. Appears to be more sensitive than earlier "T" handle. Otherwise has same form, fit, function as earlier model One problem . Owners Manual suggests recording supplier, purchase date and serial number. I looked all over regulator and could not find serial number. Put in call to Victor Customer Service and am waiting for reply. Arrived a few days earlier than originally planned. Amazon kept me informed of new arrival date,
