Absolute 5-star product!!
I just finished a series of bronze/brass castings that I wanted to have a natural, lightly-brushed finish and worried about altering the surface treatments by spraying them. After much research, I decided on Mohawk lacquer in satin. I couldn't be happier with my choice! First of all, this stuff has the smoothest, softest, controlled spray and consistency. I did multiple fine coats and didn't have a single run, splatter, or hiccup. And, best of all, it did not alter my finishes/coloring on any of the pieces. Perfect! *As a side note: For those complaining of discoloration in the reviews, I did notice something in my first spray test... I grabbed an old piece of brass, lightly sanded it with 1,000 grit and then quickly wiped it clean with a damp cotton rag. I test sprayed it and noticed I hadn't cleaned the piece well enough because the sanding dust did rise up into the lacquer. However, I had previously cleaned all my castings with acetone and once I tried that for my second spray test, I had zero issues.

Happy, but not thrilled
I have used out of the can three times so far. Following the practice of spraying while inverted, it has continued to work. I chose to buy the satin finish. It looks OK, but I have to admit that it really dulled down the polished surface that took me a while to accomplish. Think about that before choosing satin. The applied finish was a bit more coarse than I expected. Slightly orange peel-ish. Strangely enough, it looked like the 50-year old finish I attempted to replace, although not discolored. Like the spray was not finely dispersed. USE IN A VENTILATED AREA! Happy, but not thrilled.

Great on old brass
This worked great on these old brass door knobs in a house we redid. I cleaned the brass but knew they wouldn't stay shiny without a finish on them. Wasn't sure what to use, so started searching and found this product on Amazon. I put on two coats, letting dry a day or 2 between costs (not necessary to wait that long). They turned out beautiful. Sprays a nice easy to control spray.

Fine mist, easy to use!
I’m refinishing an antique indoor mailbox door with brass lion pull. The first lacquer I tried for the pull was thick, sticky and didn’t spray evenly. The Mohawk spray came out as a fine mist, yet covered well. It is much easier to use and is more forgiving. I over sprayed on the second coat, but everything dried nicely anyway. The satin sheen is beautiful and great for the antique pull, but if you want high shine, don’t get satin.

Superb coverage
Wish it came in a smaller bottle. Sprayed item twice and have 3/4 of container left. Excellent coverage. Goes on easy without drips or runs. A bit pricey but worth it.

Lacquer is flaking off outdoor lamps after 45 days
I restored outdoor brass lamps and used this product to protect the now-shiny metal. After putting 4 coats on the lamps I find it is flaking off after being outdoors for about 45 days.
