The vast majority of those with negative votes herein never bought the 360, they are Sony PS3 fanboys who are upset that the 360: 1)has superior graphics (512 megs available for video ram versus 256 megs video ram available for the PS3, for starters) 2)has a fully integrated and fantastically implemented centralized on-line service; 3)far superior exclusive games; 4)more system resources available for in-game functions such as AI, due to a significantly smaller OS; 5)Is receiving better versions of just about every important PS3 game that isn't a derivative sequel; 6)let's you choose whether or not to buy a next-gen DVD player, instead of shoving it's propietary trojan horse format (Blu-Ray) down your throat. I've been using the Xbox 360 since its release and it has been running flawlessly even after hours of continuous use. None of the games really represent what the system is capable of - which is the case with all new generation systems - but that doesn't mean there isn't a great experience waiting in the higher quality titles and the Xbox Live online service. The reports of overheating, scratched discs, and other rumored issues have been grossly exaggerated. A certain amount of defective units are to be expected with products as complicated as the Xbox 360. The same is true for any consumer product and its not an occurence that is exclusive to this product. Its known that the Xbox 360 is very capable machine that is set to usher in a new experience in gaming. A system like this requires a lot of power and it will generate a lot of heat. Therefore, simple common sense would suggest that it must be placed in a properly ventilated area and one should not move the unit while the disc drive is active. There is not much reason to wait for the competition especially since it has been reported by several reputable technical reviews that the PS3 and Xbox 360 are going to be closely matched in terms of performance; unless there are exlusive Sony franchises you enjoy. (Which may not matter much anymore considering many more developers are providing multiplatform support to maximize profits on their titles.) The Revolution is targeting a difference core audience entirely than that of PS3 and Xbox 360, so I did not give it much consideration when planning my sole platform purchase. If you enjoy video games, I highly recomment this product. This is my first new console since the N64 and I think it is incredible; I can't wait for future generation titles.

This console was simply used for Netflix instead of running down a laptop.

I got a core with a hard drive because the premiums were sold out and well anyways...i got home hooked it up to the surround sound and tv(not an hdtv unfortunately)and popped in Call of Duty 2 and i must say...i was very impressed! There's so much going on(many many enemies will attack you like crazy and you will have some crazy full out charges at stalingrad and omaha beach great fun)and yet with all that happening the game still plays very very smooth while still having the best graphics ive ever seen...if you have an hdtv lucky i cant imagine what d-day and hill 400 must look like on that the live is amazing...gamercards are a great idea imo and its fun to rag on your friends cause you unlocked stuff in games that they didnt and it gives single player games some friendly competition when you and your friend both compete to get more points on call of duty 2 single player...as for actually playing online...amazing...everything on both perfect dark 0 and call of duty 2 has run perfectly with no lag or framerate drops(some people are complaining that COD2 lags a lot but i havent experienced any yet) well i could go on forever about how good this system is i didnt even get to the amazing wireless controllers but i guess in a nutshell wat im trying to say...(...) is worth it...and remember this is only launch games wat system did have flawless launch titles...when gears of war ghost recon advanced war fighter saints row and oblivion come around everyone will be heavily impressed...heck i already am

I love this system. I'm a huge sports gamer, and playing them on the 360 is an experience. It's as realistic as you can get for a video game. For example, with Madden games on other systems, the players don't look much like their real-life counterparts and they don't even bother to do anything about it since they have helmets on, and I won't even get into how awful the refs look. But with the 360, they close in on players' faces and they really look damn near perfect, they even change their facial expressions depending on the play. When they flex after a big play, there's a even change in muscle size and veins pop! For gameplay it was great. Unfortunately, I personally didnt like the game controls for some of the games. That might well have been because I'm used to Xbox controls for certain games, and these ones are different, which can prove somewhat annoying with sports games especially. And as for the price... $400 is a lot of money to spend for a system, especially with games at $60. BUT if you have the money GET IT, you will not be sorry at all. Your only problem once you have it will probly be not being able to stop playing. For those who want to get it free this link here should help.
