You need to unscrew the base Hold the end of the shaft either removing the fan blade off the spline gently holding with a good set of grips Use another set for the black bit on the top its a reverse thread For the clear bit under the jug i used an adjustable spanner to hold the blades and a set of grips to remove the bottom coupling Hope this helps

Bought this coupler and fixed it to the underneath as described in the instructions for the kitchen aid diamond blender. After the second go , the whole thing melted away and cannot be used at all . Very expensive for a defective product. I would not suggest this product fit for sale . Surely this product should be made out of steel or a metal that is more durable.
