Easy and accurate.
So far I've had no issues with my meter. I bought this to test the ph of my feeding solution for my plants and I have to say I love it. Before I was only using strips and drops and this is a game changer and definitely a must have when growing plants that only uptake nutrients in a very specific ph range. This is a much better quality and priced meter (in my opinion) than the ones I've seen in any hardware or even local hydro stores. It comes with 3 packets of ph calibration solutions (6.86, 4.00, 9.18) and my meter tested on point every time during calibration. Just make sure to use clean water and peper towels to clean it off and take care of it everytime after you use it or before you put it away or you will ruin or compromise the electrodes.

Great pH meter
It's a standard pH meter that works great. It takes a little effort to calibrate it, but it's super easy and significantly increases the accuracy more so than it already is. This is a way better approach to measuring pH than before when I was using the drops and eyeballing the color. It takes a little time to get a steady reading, but still shorter than it took with the drops method. Great value.

I had a problem with my chemical kit. This fixed it
I didn’t know but my hot tub PH was way off. I actually got eczema because I was so off :-( and I kept having cloudy water issues. I knew something was out and I traced the culprit to out of date chemical testing dye, but in order to find out I bought new dye and this tester and did a comparison. It comes with ph powder at various levels so you can check the calibration. Mine was very accurate.Since then I only use this to test my water and it’s been perfect ever since. I also use the test strips, but I find the PH on them to be very inaccurate. I double check every now and then with my pro chemical testing kit and it’s always been spot on. It’s a little flimsy but for the money it’s cheap easy to use and accurate.

Perfect for cold process soap testing
I was afraid to buy this, initially, but the litmus papers all had terrible reviews. I hate measuring quantitative things with colorimetric chemistry. This was right in the price range, so I took the chance.I used it to measure cold processed soap after curing for 1 month. The range is supposed to be a pH of 9-10. The meter gave me a reading of 9.45. I was right in the middle, and very thrilled. The number did not jump around drastically.I have not had to calibrate this yet.Keep in mind... the probe must be rinsed thoroughly before storing it again. Use DI water for best results. If this does not work the second time around, I will be back to edit my review. So far, I am very satisfied.

It was accurate right out of the box
Review update: Included with my pH meter was a card stating that if you leave a 5star review that they would give you a Amazon E-gift card. I left an honest 5 star review on the pH meter and found this card in a little warranty envelope included in the pH meter case after I had submitted my review. I contacted them thru the email address on the card with the information they wanted for the review. Someone emailed me back within 30mins asking for pictures of this card and wanted my PayPal information for a gift instead of an Amazon E-gift card. After several days I emailed them again to ask when would I receive my Amazon E-gift card, because I did not want the PayPal gift. No reply. Waited several more days and then emailed them again...no reply. This would usually be something that would be left under the sellers ratings, but since the card was put inside the meters case I believe it should be part of the review of the item itself. So the meter still gets 5 Stars, but the bogus scam card gets a negative ten stars.**Original review below**This inexpensive pH meter was fairly accurate right out of the box. You will find this meter branded by several different companies for up to twice as much as the $12 that I paid for this one.I have only had this pH meter for a week, so I can not comment on its longevity... but I am very happy with it so far. My tap water is at a constant 8.0 to 8.1 pH. This meter measured my tap water at 8.00 to 8.12 which is spot on with the measurements from a lab. I bought a gallon of distilled water from Walmart and this meter measured a pH of 6.58. The grocery store distilled water isn't always the 7.00 pH that people expect it to be, which would cause any pH calibration solutions made with this distilled water to be unreliable.Another reviewer was complaining about the CAL button being so close to the on/off button and potentially hitting the CAL button by mistake and throwing off the calibration of the meter. The CAL button needs to be pressed for 6 seconds before it enters the calibration mode. So, if you don't press the buttons for longer than 6 seconds you will not have a chance of messing up the calibration. Some of these electronic pH meters will not work well for quality distilled and RO water because nearly all of the trace minerals have been removed. You will see the meter vary widely while trying to get a pH reading with these waters. If this happens, then put a sample of the water in a cup and add a little table salt. The salt will help the meter a lot and the salt will not affect the actual pH. Dump the salty test water down the drain after you make the measurements.I only need this meter to be accurate from the 5.0 to 8.0 range for watering plants. It isn't the fastest pH meter, where it sometimes takes a minute or so to settle on a reading, but I am not in a hurry.

Works well enough if you use a pre-mixed calibration solution!
I was able to use the provided buffer solution to calibrate the ph meter easy enough, but it DID NOT accurately measure any other solution. I tried to use it to ph balance nutrient solution but it would not show a proper change after repeated addition of ph down to the nutrient solution, while the General Hydroponics ph kit recognized each and every addition of the ph down. The issue is with the calibration solution, it does not take into account the actual starting ph of the water that has the calibration powder added to it! The ONLY way this meter is worth the money is if you start with a known calibration point. Make sure to also purchase a quality buffered ph stable calibration solution when you order this ph meter andthrowout the included powder!!!!!!!!!!

Really Warrantied
Enjoyed using this device thinking it an excellent value. Stopped working properly 14 months into the 2 year warranty period. This vendor honored the warranty with a replacement delivered in less than week. I couldn't be more pleased!
