I purchased the NOCO Genius2D, and it has exceeded my expectations! i have a Jeep that sits a significant amount of time. it hadn't been driven in nearly 7 months and the battery was stone dead!The installation process was straightforward. The included mounting bracket and eyelet cables made it easy to secure the charger near the battery. The 24-inch A/C and D/C cables provided ample length for a neat setup.This charger works flawlessly! After installing it, I left it plugged in overnight and by the next morning, the jeep started easily! It efficiently maintains the battery charge, ensuring my Jeep will always be ready to go! The charger also features short-circuit, over-voltage, and reverse polarity protection, which gives me peace of mind. Even if I mess up, I'm protected!The charger is very compact, which is a big plus. It fits easily under the hood without taking up much space. I purchased this as a battery tender to my 12 volt diesel fuel pump battery. Works great! It is a 24/7 Battery tender/charger. It shuts off when it isn't needed. Very compact and easy to use. Works fantastic! 5 Stars! Arrived promptly and as described. Would be great for boats etc. I would highly recommend this unit! Great Purchase!

I got this partially because I need a SLA charger and maintainer but a little bit also because of it restoration function. Some newer charger/maintainers like this also have the ability to apply a pulse that can help break up crystalization inside the battery. While this will not bring an old or damaged battery back to a new state, it does help with things like when a battery is allowed to discharge too far at least once but not significantly damaged otherwise.I didn't know for sure if it would help with my own car's battery, but decided to try it anyway. It actually did indeed seem to help. Before using this it would only last a few minutes with the radio powered on after the car was shut off before it would shut it down due to low voltage. Now it lasts about 30 minutes. This also translates to holding up much better when sitting over time. This is not magic, so it is very limited in what it is able to do (more serious damage may not even be repairable short of basically rebuilding the battery,) but in cases of one of the more common minor causes of SLA battery capacity loss it does indeed help.As for the actual charging and maintenance functions, these seem to work quite well. It's only a 2A maximum charge rate (it lowers twice in later stages of the charge process) so not well suited to large batteries such as those of a car except as a maintainer (which needs very little actual current,) but will do in a pinch if you have the time (I believe it listed 60 hours as the time required to 100% fully charge a car battery -- although it will likely crank in much less time than that.) You will probably want one of the larger ones for those. However, it does have the advantage of being able to safely work on practically any SLA battery you can reasonably throw at it -- provided you can spare the time for a larger battery. I am also using this to maintain (and hopefully restore) a much smaller battery and so far it seems to be working just fine.I'm not clear on the difference between this one and the 2D model. This one also comes with a mount if you would like to more permanently mount it (such as inside your car.) Interestingly they seem to have made the alligator clips that come with it have screw-mounted rings that can be removed for permanent installation at the terminal screws. This way you don't need a separate set of connectors for each as the 2D model did. So this is an option for those who need to do this.

I own three of this exact model, and they've all been working perfectly for a couple years at this point. I have these wired into all of my vehicles which are driven only seasonally, and they've been great. When I park something that will be stationary for more than a month I just grab an extension cord, and plug the charger in, and then I have complete faith that the vehicle is going to re-start normally next time I want to use it. Even at full retail price for these, their ease of use and dependability makes them well worth the money being asked. I replaced too many cheap battery maintainers and batteries before I gave in and started buying name brand stuff, and I really wish I'd switched earlier. It doesn't take many failed automotive batteries caused by failed cheap chargers to vastly outweigh the price of just buying these good maintainers.

Does it's job - keeping a standard flooded lead acid car battery at optimum charge when not in use. I only drive one vehicle couple times a month and have this charger mounted under hood with the AC plug poking out the front grill slightly for charging in nearby outlet. For my particular install, I wish the positive/negative wires where maybe a half foot longer. I had to change my preferred mounting location to accommodate the wire length.

I have a fair number of add-on electronics in my truck (a 2021 Toyota Tacoma), and I also sometimes don't drive my truck for many weeks. I had a couple of instances in the past where I went to drive it after a fairly long while and the battery had drained too low to start it. Ever since I added this in and have started plugging my truck in when it's just sitting I haven't had any issues at all. The battery tending / conditioning that this does has also noticeably improved my battery's ability to hold a charge as well. The ability. I have it mounted in the engine bay and I leave it connected to the battery and plug in the truck through the front grill when it's parked to keep the battery topped up and conditioned.
