Great Effects
Great sound effects and very easy to use

Love it!!
Been playing guitar for decades (won't say how many) and been through many modulation pedals over these many years. Had a MXR phase 90 script and Boss chorus on my pedal board and replaced both with the MD-500. AWESOME PEDAL!!! Just scratching the surface with getting my favorite modulation effects setup, and they're ALL here (and more!). Easy to setup and modify parameters, and great that you can have a preset with heavy effect for clean sounds and setup a lighter version for leads as well. Sound quality is great and the software works well. The hardest thing is figuring out how you want to layout all of your created sounds - so I made a spreadsheet to document and rate the factory sounds for my taste, then came back and used banks 0 - 30 for my creations. Love, love, LOVE IT!!

the best - do not hesitate
This is my favorite guitar effect pedal. This pedal all in one contains a bunch of great boss pedals, including the best version of the slicer pedal (just for starters). The sonic scapes that are possible with this pedal are infinite, I can't possibly do this pedal justice in a short review. Just the chorus by itself is worth the price of admission, do not hesitate. There is a great computer editor software for this pedal, so buy the MD-500 instead of the lesser version MD-200. Have fun.

Complements my pedalboard perfectly, only a possible remark
I was expecting a pedal like this for years. Previously I had a TC Electronic Nova Modulator which was basically the same idea of having a pedal with all the modulation effects you expect (chorus, phaser, flanger, tremolo, etc.). I have never liked the Nova Modulator because of the switches, very annoying when choosing a preset. When Boss released the MD-500 I thought it was too big for my pedalboard. The MD-200 on the other hand is very easy to use, perfect size for my pedalboard, the CE-1 sound is so pure, flanger is fantastic, as the other sounds. The preset switch is so easy to work with, I am very happy with it. All the parameters are adjustable with simple knobs that are very sturdy, but this is expected from a pedal that costs more than the GT-1. I didn't test the CTL and USB features, I only use the basic modulation effects that complements my pedal perfectly. My only concern is the memory presets, the labels/leds are so small that is very difficult to see them from 3 feet away. Overall I am very satisfied with the pedal. UPDATE 11/23/2020: After using this pedal for some time I noticed that the upper knobs are a little higher than I expected. This causes a little problem when using the MD-200 in the bottom trail of my pedal board. Let me explain: my pedal board has 2 trails of pedals, whenever I use my foot to turn on the pedal right on top of the MD-200, it touches the upper knobs and change the parameters of the current patch, which is annoying, because I need to reload it every time it happens. A simple solution would be to exchange the pedals of course, which I really don't want to do.

Solid Multi-Modulation Pedal
This thing sounds extremely good for the price and value. I have a very expensive replica Uni-Vibe that I rarely take out of my signal chain, but I have to say the univibe mode on this MD-200 is pretty convincing and absolutely useable. The rotary and phaser modes are also a lot of fun on this. Overall great tones and it’s stereo for $250, which is hard to beat. Only real con that sticks out to me is that it can be fairly noisy (hiss), sometimes noisier than actual vintage counterparts that this pedal is replicating. Really wish Boss would stick to making pedals like this instead of terrible ideas like that PX-1 they just released. Buy this instead, same price and you’ll actually be the one who owns the effects, not renting a license to use the effects.

I love it.
I can only say I love it and hate it. It's totally freak'n awesome. But damn am I behind the curb when it comes to fully utilizing it. Heh, I realize. I'm pretty much pasting this same response across all the pedals I just added to my board. With little variation. I promise, I'm really not a bot. ;-)

sound and quality
Pedal is great and very robust, like every other Boss pedal. But not so easy to use dial like other pedals due to the multi function and then, it takes some time to "find your sound"

The mod squad
If you want a wide range of modulation effects, the Boss MD-200 is a good choice. It doesn't cover all the mod effects, and that works for me. I don't want an all-in-one multi-effects pedal clogging up my pedal board. But all of the effects it does cover, it does very well. And I love that there is an effects loop where I can add a couple of my favorite boutique pedals. Keeps the chain nice and clean.

Boss, una garanzia
Ottimo pedale, suoni di gran qualità e funzionalmente molto versatile, grazie anche al midi.

Packs a lot of options in to about 2 normal pedals of pedalboard space
I did my research on this prior to buying, and some of the sources I trust say that "you can tell it is digital", which means I think that the analogue original of each of the pedals this emulates probably beats it on a side-by-side comparison. For me, this does not matter, firstly because I will never play them side-by-side, and secondly because for the way I play with drive/distortion/fuzz etc. I would challenge anyone to notice the difference. OK, so that is the only negative I can think of. As for the positives, it has more options each with more tweakability that I know what to do with, and I can save 4 to memories that I can recall via footswitch, and a further 123 that would need some hand to dial twiddling to access, plus a 5th on the footswitch that is whatever is manually set on the dials. But you know that. What it give me is plenty of options to play, experiment, be inspired by, and when I find a good sound, I can save it away for future use. This helps me in my songwriting and playing - there is nothing like an inspiring sound to get the creative juices flowing. Overally, I could not be happier. The box marked "modulation" is firmly ticked off, and I have a lot of useful options for little real estate on my pedalboard.

Look no further!
I have never been a huge fan of boss products personally, I always used to relate them to cheaper pedals I used as a kid... but then I purchased the RV500. It took a quite a few hours to become fluent with the UI, but a week after having the RV, I sold of my delay pedals, bought the DD, and now I have the MD500! I was back and forth on the boss 500 series or Strymon’s pedals. I eventually dove in with these after playing them with a buddy who owns both. The customization is limitless. The sound quality is as good as it gets, and the build quality is solid. I lead worship in a church and play in a heavy rock band. There is no sound I cannot achieve. And once you learn the UI, it works the exact same on all three 500 pedals. I can see me tone shaping with these for years and years to come.
