UPDATE on 5/13: I reached out to Sparkel directly to replace my defective lid, they responded promptly and mailed a new lid to replace the defective one at no cost. Very satisfied. I LOVE my sparkel machine, ordered two extra bottles so we could have backup carbonated water at the ready in the fridge. The bottle that came with the machine and one of the two extra bottles I ordered keep the water carbonated for several days. So Handy! Alas, one of the two bottle that came in the two pack of extra bottles I ordered does not properly hold a seal. After taking the bottle off the machine you can hear a slight leak of air pressure from the pressure valve at the top of the one bottle. Within an hour or so the bottle with the air leak is flat and contains no carbonation. Alas, I didn't realize this immediately. By the time I noticed the problem, I was past the return date. So sad :( Can't justify buying two new bottles to replace one that doesn't work. Be sure to check your bottles for this problem promptly after receipt.

I love my Sparkel carbonation system! These bottles work great and my latest purchase of them looks like they updated the molds (from the one I got with the machine) to have the top lid gasket seal better/stay in place. The only thing that is a little annoying is when the bottle "sweats" from the humidity in the air and then pools in the lower groove between the bottle and the lower seal. When you go to drink it if you are not careful it will dribble the collected condensation onto you from that groove. Eliminating this gap would be a great improvement; I do not know if this limitation is due to the injection molding process but would be a great improvement if changed. All around still very happy with this system.

I have 3 Sparkel water bottles and I use them frequently. Judging from the quality they should last a long time.

Same quality as the bottle included with the Sparkel machine. Needed extra bottles to have more flavors of sparkling water on hand at time. Since owning this machine our family of 4 has stopped buying canned sparkling water and soda completely since December and have not looked back. It's pretty fun to play with different fruits and syrup flavoring combinations to make our own unique fizzy drinks. The containers are built very sturdy and I have no fear of them exploding on us. They keep the carbonation in the drink until you break the seal so the beverage would have a long shelf life if we ever allowed one to sit for more than a couple days. I only have 2 downsides to this product one is the cost could be a little cheaper and the other is cosmetic. Adding flavoring like Torani syrups stains the inside of the gray caps. All our caps now have various shades of red on the insides that won't wash off. It does not effect the flavor of other drinks but does leave the caps looking old and dirty.

I recently bought my Sparkel machine because I wanted to eliminate the waste my seltzer with lime habit was causing the environment. Got the machine, loved it, ordered additional bottles. One of my bottles leaked from the bottom cap. Instead of returning, I reached out to customer service. They had me take a few pictures - determined that I needed a new cap. They quickly sent me a replacement and added some carbonaters in the shipment. Top notch in my book. I haven’t fully experimented yet but so far strawberry mint Sparkel is my favorite

I've seen some reviews complaining about durability, but I carbonate multiple litres a day with these bottles and have not encountered leaking or o-ring failures. Tighten, but don't overtighten. Hand wash only (you only need to give it a quick rinse). It's a great system.

I am very happy with this purchase. It is very easy to use. Lots of bubbles, tastes good, no running out of bubbly water and no more disposable plastic bottles.

I have only had these cups for three months and they do not work properly after a few uses. After placing my ingredients into the cup with ice and water, as the machine is on, the cups began to leak out at the bottom causing a huge mess all over my counter and a waste of the fruit ingredients that I put into the cup. This causes me to have to try to make it again which also causes me to have to use more carbonator packets which is a complete waste of money.

Bottles are great and make it so that we can have lots of flavours of bubbly water available.

When I first received bottles, I only carbonated plain water to test if they leaked (some reviewers had experienced). Both bottles started badly leaking water from the bottom as it carbonated. I unscrewed bottles and retightened, tried again and both were fine! Having extra bottles ready to drink is great as one bottles only fills two large glasses. It also allows me to switch up the flavours: mango, lemon & lychee, raspberry…anything! I love that I can control the level of sweetness. I also found that I can buy the citric acid and baking soda in bulk to save money. A scant tablespoon of baking soda to a level tablespoon of citric acid works perfectly on level 4 setting. The way we go thru it, another set of extra bottles will be needed especially in hot summer! The Sparkel is a great product! Highly recommend!

I've always wanted a carbonator and glad I didn't rush to get one, because then this awesome device came on the scene. Love that you can carbonate practically anything. Great customer service. Got my uncle and one of my nephews hooked! Glad we purchased additional bottles but regret waiting as long as we did as the price went up a little - but definitely still worth having.

Edit: The last two bottles I received are slightly different. The bottoms have been reversed so the outside is flat and the inside has the 'ribs.' So far the new design is a lot tighter around the bottom seal and doesn't collect condensation as much, or slowly leak. After using for a month I'd say the new design is superior to the old design by far. After going through 6 of these bottles in the past year or two, I think I'm more than qualified to review these. These bottles are fairly high quality, but the design has a weak point; specifically the seals at the top and bottom, as well as the o-rings. I also wish they were bigger, since I probably go through 8 of these in a day at least. The bottles over time may also get tiny stress cracks on the outside, almost like stretch marks on someone's belly after losing a lot of weight. This is after several hundred carbonations however, and I don't think there's any way to avoid eventual wear and tear. But, there are ways to potentially prolong the life of the bottles if you follow the advice below: - First, the bottom grey/gray part of the bottle on the inside WILL stain with whatever color your beverage is, and you won't ever get the stain out due to the material used. Once you've stained the bottom, it'll gross anyone else out if they see it when you're trying to show off your cool carbonation machine. I've learned my lesson and I strongly recommend that you only carbonate plain water (filtered preferably), and after carbonating pour the water into a different bottle and add flavoring there. I personally use a Nalgene. - Second, adding flavoring that contains food coloring will slowly discolor the clear part of the bottle, requiring cleaning with a bottle brush or a soft cloth. over time gunk residue of flavoring liquid can slowly get into the seals and the threads on the bottom, and leaking might occur just enough that you get liquid pooling around the bottom lip that drips on you when you go to take a drink. Sometimes condensation collects in the bottom lip too, but not much. - Third, don't carbonate alcohol in these, as it will eat away at the o-rings and seals, even warping them so they fall right out. TL;DR if you want these to last, don't drink out of them and don't add flavoring in them. Instead just use them for carbonating and transfer to a drinking bottle/container.
