Sailrite® 604u Monster II Balance Wheel

This thing is awesome! A bit pricey but makes my rex machine sooo much better. Slows down the machine making it easy to do slow stiches and makes machine more powerful too

this slowed down my Rex .. and was easy to do... sail right ... knows what is the best..

Ordered this for my FS288Z China clone machine. Stock, I could only sew up to 5-6 layers of Sunbrella Marine Fabric before the clutch would start slipping. With the Monster II, now I can sew 10 layers of Sunbrella confirmed.Installation is easy. Takes less than 5 minutes. This wheel improves your machine in three ways. (1) The cog is larger. This results in slower stitching speed, but more power. (2) The wheel weights more. This adds inertia advantage, which greatly improves slow speed performance. (3) Set screws to lock the wheel to the drive shaft. This eliminates clutch slippage, except maybe in some extreme situation.The handle can be used to drive your sewing machine without electricity. I leave it off because it causes too much wobble due to lack of balancing weight on opposite side of flywheel. The package does not include a replacement pulley guard. You will either have to cut yours or live without. I left it off on mine and I don't feel like the machine is now unsafe or anything like that.Note, even though this wheel will work with Posi-Pin, it does not include those items. You will have to purchase all that separately for about $70. I did not opt for that upgrade. I will say that the Posi-Pin system does add some convenience to your machine, however, the included set screw feature does do a great job of locking the wheel to the driveshaft. When you need to uncouple the wheel, simply move the belt over a little and loosen the set screws. Takes 1 minute. If you are just doing some occasional projects, don't worry about the Posi-Pin. If you are constantly doing projects, you will probably want it.Overall, this is a fantastic upgrade. If you already have the Sailrite Power Plus wheel, you probably wont see that much of a difference by going to this. This is because you probably already have point 1 and 3 covered (larger cog and likely Posi-Pin). However, if you are coming from the standard wheel, this is a huge upgrade. You don't get the replacement guard, but the wheel is Posi-Pin compatible. Compare this to the Reliable Cuda Crank wheel package. Pick whichever better suits your needs.

The monster handle makes the Sailrite machine sew much more efficiently - anyone doing any real sewing needs it.
