Zippo Lighter Insert - Arc

I love zippo lighters and own several, but the fuel is a pain. I know some of you old school folks love it, but I've done that for 20 years, so a usb rechargeable arc insert is a welcome choice for this old dude. Love this. works great. yes, I may have lost the actual flame, but this baby still has the wonderful click when opening and closing, and now I'm never out of fuel!

Fit zippo case perfect. Works great. Easy to use.

It's a great insert and fits in all my zippos and I do love that it's rechargeable meaning I don't have to mess with butane or lighter fluid. However because it is electric some things just don't catch on fire the way you want them to. Like if you want to start a fire some things just immediately burn with no flame. Lighting fuses is super easy and fast though. So basically you really have to know what kind of use you are going for with the electric lighter. Fireworks are amazing with this thing.

After considerable thought and research I decided to go with Zippo as my primary lighter and a big part of that was the arc insert. The whole insert system itself was a master stroke in my opinion. I got the double butane torch and the arc at the same time. Despite reading and following the instructions I couldn't get the first arc to ignite.I returned it.I received the replacement shortly thereafter and had the same issue. Then as I was about to give up and return the whole thing I happened to notice a little paper insert in the box that near the bottom mentions a double tap ignition system. Oi! It works like a champ. Perfect fit, excellent construction, clean, safe, and for those that can read easy to use.No issue with the double butane torch whatsoever. For the price they are both simply excellent. Since this experience I have thought of applications for some of the other inserts available and at these prices why not?I read the instruction leaflet and it says press the ignition button and hold it. Be nice if they more prominently displayed the double tap instruction somewhere as it is an excellent safety feature. They should also somehow give users the option of a single press.

The media could not be loaded. I love it. I’ve always loved Zippo lighters since I was a kid. Nothing like the sound of a Zippo opening up before lighting up a cigarette or a doobie. I never liked the stinky fuel. The torch is better but this is the best in my opinion. No fuel. No flint. No mess. I like the high gloss polished finish, even on the spring cam which is a dark colored metal on the classic insert. It has a nice weight to it, even heavier than the classic fuel insert which makes the lighter feel nice in your hand. I can’t wait to buy more zippos now. The only bad thing I can say about the arc lighter insert is that it doesn’t fit the shell as tightly as the classic insert. Slightly looser fit but I T works just fine. Five stars.

I got this when it first came out (yes, I waited awhile since purchase before review) and was excited that I got to carry my normal Zippo case and have an arc lighter.Shortly after receiving and using this, I had issue with the insert. I called and spoke with a wonderful lady who after a brief discussion had me send the insert back and then shipped me a new replacement one. I cannot say how pleasant it is to work with Zippo when you have an issue that they stand behind all of their products! Zippo Customer Service = A+After getting the replacement insert, and using it for awhile here are my thoughts/review on this product.The Good - It does what its supposed to, it lights your cigarette in any windy conditions (I did not try to light anything other than cigarettes so cannot speak to other materials)The Bad - I used this insert in multiple cases and they all fit too tightly, it was not easy to get the insert out to charge (read below for more on this, you will have to charge this frequently) like the normal insert. Zippo please make a case version that has a hole that allows charging without taking the insert out. Also I had to put the cigarette much closer to the insert vs my friends arc lighters that I used and made me want to get this insert.The Ugly - This does not hold the charge capacity that was advertised, even new. If your going to use this insert regularly you will need to charge every day and it may not make it through a full day. This is why I went back to using the regular fuel insert, I know you can fill it up and it last 1-2 weeks easy.

Don’t have to worry about running out of fuel because the lighter has been in your pocket for so long. I got tired of my zippo always drying out. I didn’t use it enough. The fuel just dried out. You can charge it, comes with a cord. Easy to use. If you need to start a fire get this. If you want to smoke out of a pipe don’t get this. This is my safety lighter. IUse it for my EDC light. The double tap is a great safety feature. I didn’t read the instructions first. It’s way cool. I have the double butane torch as well. I want another one. I’m a big fan of the Ark electric lighter. Some are super loud. This one isn’t that loud at all. That never bother me before. I know some animals think it’s too loud I’ve noticed. This one is in the sweet spot. Get it.
