Frigidaire 318601302 Meat Probe Replacement Thermometer 24 Month Warranty

I was a little skeptical at the price difference of the "official part" and this part, but I reached out to the company and they assured me it would work. First impression is that it's of same or higher quality than the original. I mean really it's just a thermistor in a stainless steel probe with a phono plug.At first when I plugged it it registered 392 degrees and was not happy. I did this several times and was about to return it when I left it plugged in and after 30 or seconds it beeped and registered the correct temp. I suspect the oven computer is going thru some routine to accept the sensor much like when you plug in a USB drive in a computer and it takes a few seconds to register. In addition, I found that the plug should not be seated tight into the receptacle, but about 3/16" gap between the base of the plug and receptacle (see pic). You can feel the plug contact seat in the plug detent. The original had this problem too and is a design flaw in the oven receptacle itself and not the probe.Went ahead and cooked a rib roast and it worked perfectly. Good product from an American Company.One thing I am not going to do is submerge it in dishwater as I think that killed the old one as I found corrosion when I did forensics on the old probe. Just a wipe off with soapy dish rag or sponge and light rinse on the probe end.

My Wolf oven needed a probe. This one didn't break the bank, and worked perfectly. I highly recommend it. The flexible silicon wiring is heat resistant, and the steel probe is designed to last- it washes up nicely. I plan on orderring a second one for the double oven when my Wolf one dies, or just for back-up. NOTE: Wolf will not sell probes online, and they start at $100! Excellent value for the dollar here!

It was for a kenmore oven . Didntwork. Kenmore is very hard to find proper parts for.
