Q: Is the Kudu a piece of Chinese crap?

Mine had a complete coat of enamel no chips . Moderately smooth casting wont know how that works until fire season . Looked very good for the cheapest one out there. Unless you must have a potjie. A made in America lodge is probably probably your best bet. You can get a dutch oven about the the same capacity for 1/3 the price of a potjie from amazon whse. But , I get it ,potjies are cool but they are also very expensive

Q: Where is this product made

There are no markings on the pot or box telling where it was made. I'm assuming China . I brought the pot for my brother who has to much iron issues . I looked it over before giving it to him, and it seemed well made, and the lid fit well. He is happy with it. #3 pot is the size to get ,as most recipes are for that size. I have a smaller #2 best duty I'm happy with, but I have to cut the recipes down and I'm never sure if the recipes will fit in the pot. The porcilen coating is of concern as it would be ezey to chip it. Care should be taken to not drop the lid or or bang the lid and pot together. The wooden lid lifter knob , sold with the best duty pot, is a good assory to buy or make. I like the coating , as it is ready to cook , and clean ,with out a lot of sanding to get it smothe and then seasoning the cast iron.

The Dutch Oven is glass enamel it is free of heavy metals. Furthermore, it has FDA certification so all materials are in line with FDA regulations for cookware.
