BOSSOD-200 Hybrid Drive Pedal

why Boss have the reputation they have and why they're as commercial as they are ..... they're great! I saw a bunch of YouTube reviews on this pedal and some of them weren't that favourable. They basically implied that the sounds weren't that authentic but honestly it's down to laziness in my opinion. If you spend a little time and effort into dialing them in properly as one would am amp, the pedal is capable of any OD or Dist sound you care to mention.For what it is, this pedal is capable of being the one OD/Dist pedal one would ever need.-Seal.

Best distortion pedal I've ever owned, & I'm a 40 yr old, professional musician. People don't understand how this pedal works tho. So there are multiple analog circuits in here, that are basically modelled after the pedals that are being mimicked here... well they're all BOSS circuitry, so I guess it's not mimicry. The only digital voodoo is happening in the three patches that BOSS tells you are digital. That digital circuit does do some modelling, but it's scant, & you're getting 80% analog, w/20% digital (on only a few presets) & that is the best you can get. A little digital is good on your board. That said, this thing screams, & the combos & new audio tapestries you can craft are startlingly good. I play at least an hour a day, more than I used to. I'm very happy with it, if you couldn't tell.

I bought this thing to replace by Boss BD-2 and a centaur-like OD pedal and it does the job and then some.If you’re playing with single coils, it may sound a bit tin-y right out the box. Turn the treble down and the mids up and it will sing. The Boost function isn’t super intuitive at first, but w found the sweet spot to be dialing down the volume boost and turning up the gain.If you’re on the fence due to it being an analog/digital hybrid, I had a friend randomly switch between my stand-alone Blues Driver and the OD-200 on “Blues” with light breakup and I could not for the life of me tell the difference. This thing rules.

This has pretty much all you'll need, but you lose the quick taps of a full pedal board. If there were an external pedal for quick on/off triggering or something... Some of the effects are noisy af. The noise gate is good.

Best pedal that i have ever had!!!I had doubts on it at first on being digital. But i think it improves a lot. I love the boost function, gates, and stacking!! These features surprised me a big time! I never had that tone before the OD-200

Distortion and gate are amazing. Great for metal chug. Ability to experiment with different fx in series with booster is powerful. Use in front of Marshall DSL100H. Best metal tone ever.

The sound is great: it is truly high gain heaven in many, many flavors. Replaces numerous drive pedals and a noise gate.I'm generally a huge Boss fan (I also own the DD500), but there's a big difference in terms of what can be programmed and how MIDI is implemented. The main problem is the terrible 3.5mm MIDI cables. These don't play nice with other gear. You need to buy the special cables, and since there are 2 kinds of 5 pin-to-3.5 mm cables, you might end up with the wrong ones. MIDI not being the simplest thing in the world, there's plenty of frustration in store if this goes wrong. It feels like an effort to push me to buy the other 200 series pedals, which I don't appreciate.Then there's the update procedure. As an Eventide H9 owner, the Boss update software and procedure is a complete embarrassment. The instructions are poor, the support matches the instructions, and if this goes wrong the pedal becomes a doorstop. Boss makes you sign a disclaimer that this is the user's fault when downloading the update software.All in all I am going to put up with this pedal because of the great sounds it gets out of my amp... but this product disappoints in a few key ways.

A menos que te guste entrar en ese debate de análogo vs digital, este pedal no es para ti. Digital o no, este pedal debería ser considerado como una herramienta más que algo que quiera emular, copiar o sustituir otros pedales famosos. O sea, aquí no vas a conseguir la copia exacta de un Tubescreamer o un Klon Centaur... ni siquiera obtendrás la copia exacta de un Metal Zone (habrá gente). Lo que vas a obtener es alrededor de 168 diferentes texturas de boost/overdrive/distorsion/fuzz que son muy útiles para lograr prácticamente cualquier estilo. No es para que te deshagas de tu colección de pedales, pero en la práctica, lograr el tono que necesitas está a la vuelta de varios knobs.PROS:1) Puedes correr hasta 2 boost/over/dist/fuzz en paralelo o en series2) Altamente customizable con pedal externo3) EQ de 3 bandas... todas útiles4) Noise gate integrado, pedal extra!5) Tiene 4 memorias con el software de fábrica, expandible hasta 120+ con la actualización de versión6) MIDI I/O7) El patch MAN (manual) funciona como si fuera cualquier pedal individual, o sea, los settings que ves en los knobs es el sonido que obtendrásCONTRAS1) No es muy intuitivo, pero siguiendo el manual estarás bien2) Si cambias de memoria tendrás que recordar cuál distorsión principal es la que tienes activa así como los settings del EQ, porque el display solo muestra cuál BOOST tienes activo3) No pueden editarse los patches via PC o MAC, todo es con los botones del pedal4) Esto es algo de gusto personal, pero los jacks están en la parte superior en lugar de los laterales, en algunas pedales se podría dificultar su acceso si este es tu primer pedal en la cadenaVale la pena el precio por lo que obtienes? Si. Va a sustituir tu colección de drives? No. La gente se va a dar cuenta que estás usando algo digital? No creo. Si lo ves de esta manera, por el precio, estás comprando más de 12 pedales más un noise gate. Haz las cuentas y ve qué te puedes comprar.

grande pedale che ti permette di avere tante distorsioni in un unico stomp box che grazie al tasto write è possibile salvare e richiamare il suono desiderato ci sono 4 quattro memorie ma grazie al collegamento al pc si possono aumentare da 1 a 127 presets in oltre il pedale ha anche un attacco midi che ti permette tramite foot controller es 8 o qualsiasi altro controller di gestire il tuttopedale molto versatile e neanche troppo ingombrante

I was initially skeptical of this as it’s a do it all overdrive, but I needed an overdrive pedal that could give me good distortion sounds as well as nice bluesy sounds on my strat and didn’t want to have loads of pedals on my board. I’ve got to say, it’s probably the best pedal I’ve ever played through. I’ve been playing for 20 years, and I much preferred it to my jhs angry Charlie which wasn’t cheap. That plus my tube screamer have been replaced by this. It sounds amazing.If you need a wide range of tones just buy this, it sounds great. I’ve bought this for gigging and sounds good when the amp is cranked too. Doesn’t sound digital at all to me, very authentic tones from it.Very happy indeed

今まで狂ったように歪みペダルをあれこれ買って散財してきたのが馬鹿らしくなるほどに素晴らしいと個人的には思っています。更にプリアンプとしてアンプのリターンやキャバシミュと組み合わせても良いです（特にハイゲイン）。ディスプレイが小さいので操作は最初迷うかもしれないですが、慣れればなんとか大丈夫だと思います。このコンパクトサイズに12種類も歪みがあって更にブーストも直列、並列でできてノイズゲートも装備。EQの効きは幅広く音作りも楽しい。最近値上がりしてしまったがそれでも安い、安すぎる！！BOSSさんありがとうございます♪これの後段に空間系でZOOMのMS-70CDR、前段にチューナーとBlackstarのDept.10 boost（薄く常時オン）でpedaltrain nanoに収まるミニボード組んでますが小さくてもいろいろできてとても気に入っています！
