Ruby's worry

I like how they make "worry" into a furry ball with unibrows. And the story is very easy for my boy, and it also tells him that it's normal to feel worried. And it offers a solution for when he's worried. We both enjoy the book so much!

Dealing with anxiety about the unknown after 3 years of being home with only his parents. Pandemic....

I love using this book in my class it really helps students to understand their emotions! Definitely a great book for children learning about their emotions.

I'm an Elementary School Counselor. This book is a wonderful tool for so many different kinds of lessons. The kids loved it, and it prompted great discussion! I actually read it to grades k-5 as my beginning of the year lesson in which I review my role in the building. Even the older kids enjoyed it. I highly recommend this book for parents and anyone who works with children!

They children understood and connected with Ruby.

I ordered these two books since they have different titles and different cover pages thinking they were part of a series. They’re the SAME BOOK. Same wording on every single page (and same pictures) but different title and cover page. Annoyed I bought the same book twice and wondering why they are making the same book with a different title.

Ruby’s Worry is a wonderfully written and illustrated story that introduces the concept of anxiety in a way that’s easy for children to understand. It follows Ruby, a cheerful girl who suddenly finds herself followed by a worry that grows the more she ignores it - a simple but powerful metaphor for how anxieties can build over time. The illustrations are bright and expressive, full of colour and warmth, which keeps even younger readers engaged while reinforcing the emotional story. The message - that talking about worries helps them shrink - is delivered with just the right balance of honesty and reassurance. It’s a book we’ve returned to many times, particularly as our eldest has grown and started to experience her own moments of worry or self-doubt. It’s written clearly enough that she can now read it independently, but I still find value in reading it together and using it as a gentle way to start discussions about feelings. It’s part of a wider series that tackles different emotions, and this one, in particular, stands out for its clarity, empathy and accessibility.

I really enjoy the book as do my students, unfortunately, it is exactly the same book as Ruby finds a worry and is $6.00 more.
