Anyone know the write speeds of this device?

I have the 128GB version. The sustained sequential write speed is approx 28MB/s

Will this work with a sony bravia kd-55ag9 oled tv?

I have the 64gb version of this plugged into my sony bravia 55 for recording and it works great.

sandisk have a reputation for going 'read only' (this has happened to me). Is this also prone to that ??

Mine didn’t go read only, but was completely undetected after a few months of use.

The blurb says it includes sandisk secureaccess password protection. if i format the drive to ntfc will the password protection software be lost?

Yes I am sure it will. It did for me. Formatting wipes the slate clean. You could perhaps copy the software before formatting and then reload afterwords. Not sure if that would work, but I think it would.
