Works great but ONLY 7 "STRING HOLDERS" CAME WITH IT
Got this for an 8-string guitar I was hired to record for a company note-by-note. This capo gives huge sustain boost, up to about the 10th fret of each string. It clamps well and feels sturdy. Definitely a solid buy if you're looking for creative capo capabilities on a 6 or 7 string guitar....BUT IT DIDN'T COME WITH 8 "FRET HOLDERS"... It came with 6 on the Spider Capo already, with a 7th one I just slid on... but unless I somehow lost it or didn't see it in the packaging (99% sure I did not) there was not a string holder for the 8th string, yet it's advertised "for 7-8 string guitars" .... so I'm marking this down because that's just aggravating

Doesn't work for all guitars. Cool toy
This might work for some guitars, especially ones with high action, but not all guitars. On mine, it barely touched the strings. It can only be used on a single fret, not multiple frets. The arms don't have enough reach.Even when they touch the strings, they made poor contact. I had trouble getting it to put enough pressure to get the strings to sound.

Great putchase!
Not sure what all the bad reviews are for, other than the bunk one-off here and there. This worked like a charm for me, but it's not a quick on and off like most capos. You need to take your time with it and "fit it" to your guitar. I'm using a 7 string BC Rich USA model and it works flawlessly on it's ebony fretboard.

Cheap gimmick capo that barely functions.
The product easily fits an 8 string electric, but wasn't quite as easy to dial in on a 6 string acoustic. Tabs are made of plastic and are tedious to put on. It's far more gimmicky than functional, it produces a horrible buzz when snapped up to capo the frets, it is not at all worth the price unless it gets lowered to around 5-7 dollars. It is much more a toy than a musical tool. I'd suggest you steer clear of this item so you can spend your money on something of quality.

fits quite well and is sturdy. Takes a little practice and getting used to
I have a 6-string Ibanez BTB bass. I use this mostly for metal, where I want a string to have an open feel for chugging and that depends on what the pitch center of the song is. Does not damage the neck or anything, fits quite well and is sturdy. Takes a little practice and getting used to, to make sure it works well and does not slip off but it is an efficient product and has worked with me on more than 5 gigs (hour long+) now. And countless rehearsals. Great product.

I like it better than older model the pegs are thinner ...
Works on my classical without any buzzing. There is a trick to it, you have to place the capo slightly above (next fret) the fret, then move the pegs back with slight angle so that the pegs are on top of the fret (not the fret board), I had buzzing problems until i tried that. It is not very intuitive methodology but it works. I like it better than older model the pegs are thinner and it comes with 8 pegs.

Works, mostly well.
Good build quality, although it's a bit plasticky. It works and is all well and good except one string needs to be adjusted specially at a weird angle but otherwise, yep, it's an 8 string capo.

Genius
Best decision for a capo. My music got considerably darker and much more versatile and avant garde when I received this.

A bit of a faff but interesting
I bought this in order to use as a three string capo as my Shubb capo is too short for my eight string guitar, (has to cover two octave strings too. )So for me, it does what it says on the tin as I can adjust to get it just right.I don’t use it on my other guitars though as it isn’t quick to set up, despite the advertising saying otherwise. Some very good aspects though, should you consider it.1. You can vary the pressure on the strings individually, so they remain in tune.2. Experimenting with tunings is easy and you may find something of interest.3. Well made and solid.

Disappointment
Unfortunately, I couldn't really get it to work consistently, or to a standard that would be sufficiently good for public performances. If I had more than one guitar, I might persist on a guitar with a lower tuning but, in standard tuning, there is insufficient pressure applied to stop each string properly without some buzzing.

The negative reviews were pretty convincing. But in practice it's pretty good
I was very skeptical about this thing. The negative reviews were pretty convincing. But in practice it's pretty good. So far it has held up to extensive use well and it doesn't damage the guitar neck like I feared it might from aforementioned reviews. It's the ONLY capo I have tried which can comfortably cover a 7-string classical guitar neck properly.

Great gadget
What a great gadget this is! I can't recommend it highly enough. For anyone who wants to try different tunings then this is for them. Of course it also works as normal capo.
