Arrived in good shape though expensive.
2023-09-13: This was a gift and it was appreciated by the recipient. Seemed to be well-mounted and displayed. I'm not an expert though.

Pretty but smelly
I got it for a gift for my sister and smell is definitely there. I read other reviews and I thought maybe it’s not as bad but it pretty strong. I mean it’s a dead bug so not surprising. But it’s very beautiful

VERY PLEASED!
I bought 2 of these amazing specimens for my Grandson. It did have a strong mothball smell so I measured it and bought specimen boxes with a clasp to lock it on Amazon for $13.00 each and they fit great. The specimens are in the house but you can't smell anything. The perfect solution for the most perfect specimens.

The smell is overwhelming
Unfortunately there is a small box inside the case with the specimen that is a preservative. It smells like mothballs, but it is 10 times stronger. I picked it up at post office, and by the time I got home my eyes were burning and I felt like I couldn't breath. I had to open all the windows. I am so disappointed, as the insect itself is beautiful hence 2 stars. But I will not be able to use it with that box and smell. I am not sure how to return it. If I could get the preservative out of the case the insect is in, maybe it would work.
